What’s good, I’m Jay — the artist behind Inked Up by Jay.

I specialize in Black & Gray Realism, with a focus on sleeves, large-scale work, and cover-ups.

For me, it’s bigger than just putting a tattoo on somebody. I enjoy taking an idea, building it with my client, and turning it into something we’re both proud of.

Different pieces. Different stories. Same attention to detail.

Every tattoo has its own meaning. Every piece calls for a different approach. From realism and portraits to cover-ups, black & grey, and custom work—the goal stays the same: clean work, strong detail, and a piece built specifically for you.

Your story. Your vision. Your tattoo.

From the (707) to the (916) and beyond 💪

Hey guys, I’m Jay, the artist behind Inked Up by Jay. I’ve been tattooing for seven years, building my name in the Sacramento area, refining my skills, and putting everything I learn back into my work.

I’m excited to share that I’ll now be tattooing in Fairfield alongside my private studio in Sacramento. You can book with me:

📍 @luckyoneink Fairfield — Monday through Wednesday
📍 Sacramento — Thursday through Sunday

I’m looking forward to growing as an artist, meeting new people, and hearing the stories behind the pieces we create together.

To everyone who’s supported me along the way, thank you. And if we haven’t met yet, I look forward to working with you. Send me a DM, and let’s talk about your next tattoo. taken in Fairfield, California by @inkedup_byjay

Face is exactly two weeks healed here. Whatcha think 🤔

Honored to do this portrait of my old celly on his new wife . Hope to see you home soon brother.

I’ve done a lot of these tattoos on the families/friends of those I knew or referred to me from acquaintances I knew from inside. I’m honored to be trusted with these pieces because I know how meaningful they can be.

If you’re looking to do something similar, a portrait, a meaningful tribute or you just want to honor a loved one, Dm me. Tell me your story and your vision.

Now booking Sacramento studio and @luckyoneink

We would like to Welcome @inkedup_byjay to Lucky One Ink crew!

We’re excited to officially welcome you to the Lucky One Ink family!

Joining our team means becoming part of something bigger than just a tattoo shop. We’re building a place where talented artists can grow, push their creativity, build their clientele, and take pride in the work they put out every day.

At Lucky One Ink, we believe in quality over quantity, professionalism, respect, and creating an environment where everyone can succeed.

Every artist brings their own style, experience, and personality to the shop. We don’t expect everyone to tattoo the same way. We encourage individuality, creativity, and artistic growth while maintaining the high standards our clients have come to expect. So come get some work done by our newest edition to the team. #fyp #tattoo #tattooartist by @inkedup_byjay

Precious moments captured forever.

I really appreciate my clients trusting me with such important subject matter. My client here wanted to complete her upper arm with a piece dedicated to her babies. We weren’t going for wall to wall coverage here. The goal was to let it breathe and keep it light so that it stays feminine and doesn’t distract from the portraits.

One more child portrait to go for her so be on the look out for that and the healed results of this piece.

Now booking: ask about my portrait special I have

15 years in. 7 years free.

Sometimes I’m just cleaning up the studio, listening to music, and it hits me—I have a life I used to only think about.

A place to work. A skill that helps me earn an honest living. People who trust me with their tattoos. Family to go home to.

I still have bills, stress, and things I’m working toward. But I’m grateful I get to be here doing it.

Appreciate your freedom. Appreciate the small things. Being able to work, provide, and spend time with the people you love means more to me than I can say.

Currently booking in the Sacramento area.
I also now have merch up so come by and pick up a shirt. 🫡
