Inspiring the next generation of tourism leaders!

Today, Inkingi Arts Space was honored to host tourism students and their trainer, Sam Kiviri @kiviri_sam_250, from Kigali Excellent Tourism and Hospitality Academy (KETHA) @ketharwanda for an immersive learning visit.

From exploring traditional heritage to diving into Rwanda’s vibrant modern art scene, it was a pleasure sharing how creative expression plays a vital role in our nation’s tourism industry.

A special thank you to Global Line Safaris @globallinesafaris1 for making this connection possible and supporting collaborative education.

Together, we’re shaping the future of Rwandan hospitality and art!

High fives and big smiles all around!

Step inside Inkingi Arts Space to experience our latest collection,a powerful dialogue between ancient carving traditions and contemporary visual art.

At the heart of the display, hand-carved hardwood sculptures take center stage, celebrating the rich heritage of two distinct regional traditions:

• The Teke Tradition: Originating along the Congo Basin, Teke sculptures are renowned for their protective guardian figures, characterized by fine parallel facial scarification (mbolo) and grounded, spiritual postures meant to safeguard community and lineage.

• The Chokwe Tradition: Originating across Angola, DRC, and Zambia, Chokwe woodcarvings are celebrated for their powerful representations of rulers, hunters, and heroes—symbolizing authority, physical strength, prestige, and active leadership.

Set alongside vibrant, large-scale contemporary canvas work, these masterfully carved figures show how ancestral heritage continues to inform and inspire modern creative expression.

Art isn’t just made,it’s remembered, carried forward, and reimagined.

Send us a DM for inquiries and private viewing details,or visit Inkingi Arts Space to experience these timeless pieces up close.

Stop N⁰13 at @inkingiartspace

Deep in the heart of Kigali’s creative scene, I spent an inspiring day at @InkingiArtSpace during my UNGA research tour last December. 🇷🇼✨

Connecting with the brilliant artists working here was a masterclass in collaboration and vision. Inkingi isn’t just a space; it’s a powerhouse of East African creative energy. Seeing how their work challenges and redefines our regional identity continues to fuel the “duality” concept for the upcoming UNGA exhibition. 🎨🌍

Grateful for the warm welcome and the shared conversations that remind me why this journey matters.
