This spring I graduated from @universityofhouston School of Natural Science and Mathematics @uhnsm with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. It’s admittedly been a slow process but I’ve finally digested what it means. It means that all the hands that raised me to this point weren’t for naught and all the prayers that carried me through these 4 years were heard. It means I have what I need to make my family and myself proud.

I started off college insecure and unsure of how I could put the pieces together needed for the life I envisioned. I let this feeling hang on too long, turning blind to the fact that those pieces were in the very environment I felt so adrift within. Those pieces surfaced as the people around me and opportunities they held. The more I engaged with and met all the inspiring people in my circle today, the more I was able to grow facets of myself that were always meant to be nurtured. I feel so much honor being able to serve in every single organization I did. Whether as a student, officer, mentor, or President, there was a feeling of satisfaction in every minute of my time put towards these collectives. In times where I felt like I was slowing down or drowning, I had so many support systems in my family, friends, and the Lord. I would never have made it this far without them. I thank God for putting so much in my path that I pray - in due time- could lift up another evolving soul just like me. I am inspired to this very day by the students that egged me on to perpetually show up outside of class, the professors that showed me exactly what someone like me could be capable of, and the professionals that put their trust in me to work under them.

I know that whatever happens next, I’ll continue to have this cloud of love and light lifting me to the dreams that remain hot in my mind and soul. I’m as fully realized as I can be, in Jesus’ name. Until my next mountain.
