Another #inktober #apoctober2026 drawing for the prompts #weeds and #pincers. Not extremely happy with this design, but it was a great loosened up sketch session so I'm happy about that. by @inksmith

Here’s the man, the myth, the legend, Austin Smith, a longtime director assistant that brings confidence, precision, and over a decade of performance experience to the dance floor. ⚡️

For Austin, great dancing isn’t about proving you’re better than the person next to you. It’s about letting go of ego & competition long enough to actually enjoy the moment. The technique matters, the details matter, but the best performances happen when you stop holding yourself back and allow for full presence.

When he’s not dancing, you’ll probably find him:
🎨 Working as an artist at Disney
🏋️ Bodybuilding and putting in time at the gym
👶 Most realistically… at home with the baby
✨ Bringing an artist’s eye for detail into just about everything he does

After around 11 years on the team, Austin knows how to make something look sharp without losing the joy that made everyone start dancing in the first place. Be precise. Be confident. Put the nerves aside. Then go perform like you mean it.

I'm always trying to see if I can draw detailed anatomy from imagination. Definitely not a master yet, but it's something I am always excited to practice, scribbling it in notebooks and scraps of paper. The human body is an amazing thing and the musculoskeletal system is just one piece of that beautiful human art piece.

I've been thinking a lot about my identity as an artist. I've been so blessed to get my dream job drawing such fun stuff for animation. I'm not asking for more. I'm already so blessed. But in my own personal exploration of art I am determined to keep growing.

I've been thinking about what I love drawing and complex internal anatomy is part of that. Now I'm trying to figure out how I want to express myself more personally and what messages do I want my art to carry. It's esoteric and not practical, but it's shaping up to be a really fun exploration. by @inksmith
