We threw a pre-Halloween party with the kids at Bellevue Hospital! 🎃 A dozen kids decorated masks and drew Draculas, goblins, and pumpkins while rocking out to some spooky tunes.

So grateful to our Event Director, @michmasharts for coordinating and leading this spooctacular time. And to our fearless volunteers: @newyorkcartoons, @eleanorrahim, and Tim Savage for sharing their terribly good talents. by @inkwellkids

Such a special day with the children at @stmaryskidsny Hospital! Both artists and kids drew portraits of each other back and forth, filling in colors and shapes, inspired by the brilliant walls of our music and rec room surroundings.

Enormous thanks to our trusty trio of volunteers: Timothy Savage, @ray_alma_cartoonist, and @caricatures_martymac with special gratitude to Tim who always coordinates our St. Mary's events with such care. 💗

So proud to celebrate 20 YEARS of Ink Well Kids!!!! Many wonderful volunteers who’ve been with us from day one came out to join our fantastic new crew and partner coordinators like Laurina and Tifara from Bellevue Hospital. Event Directors, Timothy Savage, @lisalabra and @michmasharts said a few words as well as our Founder and Executive Director, Elizabeth Winter. It was an incredible chance to look back on all the special times meaningful work for the children we serve.

Most meaningful of all is just knowing that together we have brought smiles, laughter, and new arts skills to beautiful kids who deserve all the attention and encouragement in the world.

Thanks again to every volunteer, donor, and all our hospital and foster care center partners, for making this such a special journey these past two decades.

Also want to send a shout out to the great @thegemsaloonnyc for letting us roost in your awesome upper level. @molly_gwen and Sarah, you guys are the best 🤗 by @inkwellkids

Can't believe it's been 20 YEARS!!! Looking through all the sweet photos of our very first days bringing professional animators, cartoonists, and illustrators together with children at health and foster care centers and feeling honored to have shared so many meaningful moments. ❤️

Can't wait to celebrate tomorrow night with our volunteers, donors, and friends! See you soon, Ink Wellers! And thank you so much for sharing your time and talents with the Ink Well Kids all these many years. by @inkwellkids

Catching up on recent events! IWK Event Director @lisalabra taught #stopmotion at foster care support center, @nackidscan. In no time, the kids made a garden full of poppies, pollinators, peacocks, and even panthers! Check out this montage of their work and we'll share some behind the scenes shots next.

The Ink Well Kids crew was at Bellevue Hospital to commence a March of the Robots! Using sticky shapes, reflective paper, a smattering of googly eyes, and heaps of imagination, the kids designed their very own rad robot characters. One boy announced, "I made a Medical Robot that helps people!" 🤖

Led by Event Director @michmasharts, our volunteers, @mikeburnsart, @joan_chiverton, and Timothy Savage, had a blast assisting the kids with their designs.

Our flower-powered event with @nackidscan was the perfect way to bring in the spring blooms! 🌸✨

Each child designed unique bouquets from colored tissue paper and pipe cleaners, then proudly showed and shared them with their mentors, family, and friends. Then we gave them all their own art kits to keep creating on their own.

Thanks to Tejan, Shelsey, and the rest of the NAC staff for welcoming us; to our Event Director, @lisalabra, for organizing and leading this and all our NAC events; and to our dear volunteers @andreadaquino_art, Pedro Delgado, Dayna Gonzalez, @stephenkroninger, @stefanoimbert, @eleanorrahim for bringing patience, positivity, and heart to everything we do. 💐
