Year 30 threw a jab, but we shake those off. There’s a laundry list of things that I could’ve done differently or just flat out better. Navigating a possible career change. Productivity wasn’t as high as I feel it should be. Hit a creative funk that I’m still working myself out of. I’ve learned to hold myself accountable for the things I could/should be better at. But I’m also learning to give myself the grace to accept it and figure it out. Highs and lows are apart of the game. If you asked me at 20 who I would be in 10 years, I probably wouldn’t have an answer for you. I have a habit of living my life five feet in front of me at a time instead of looking down a mile. So looking that far down the road would’ve scared me. Now being here, going through the rollercoaster ride that was my 20s, I think I’m right where I need to be. Everything’s not perfect. There’s people that I wish had the same favor to still be here in the physical. I’m only scratching the surface of where I want to be professionally and personally. But I’m here, and that’s what’s most important to me right now. I still get to smell the roses while I can and get a chance to be better than I was the year before. God saw me fit to be here for 3 decades and I’m grateful for every year I got to experience. The good and the bad. I learned from it and I’m better for it.
