Life finds a way

I am far away from home now, just an Israeli citizen traveling around. I never imagined that this would be my first post from the trip. But it's just too much and I have to share.
I had the privilege to be disconnected until yesterday 3pm, getting some Internet to find my next hostel only to discover instead that my home is at war. That my country is being torn apart by terrorists that invaded it. That all of my biggest nightmares are coming to life. That there are Israeli citizens who were kidnapped inside Gaza. Children, elderly, everyone they could find and didn't murder instead. I'm writing this and I still can't believe that all of this happened and is still happening.
I know the middle east situation is complicated and raises tons of conflicts, but this is beyond belief. You could say that they rose to defend themselves after all these years, but this is no defense. This is a well planned attack operation, led by the most viscous people who live on this earth, that rather burn everything to ash by any means. Don't let the hate get you, don't let anyone tell you that there's an excuse for those crimes against humanity. We are always put in a corner where it's either we kill or die. None of us wants it to be like it, but we just keep being pushed into defending ourselves. We've always only defended ourselves from terror organizations that control every piece of land around us, that care about no one, even their own innocent civilians, and they will not stop until they wipe us out. Yesterday they proved that, once and for all. You can't reason with it. You can barely grasp the news that don't stop showing up. And we still don't know so much. The details and stories are devastating.
I wish I could conclude with some wisdom words or with a taste of hope, but at this moment I can only grieve and cry with my nation. taken in Tossa De Mar, Costa Brava by @inna_y182

Always look at the bright side of life. Especially if it rains 90% of the day and you're literally chasing the sun
