These sunset portraits took us less than ten minutes.

Almost every couple I photograph tells me they don’t feel comfortable in front of a camera and they don’t enjoy having their picture taken. Good photos have a lot less to do with posing and a lot more to do with being present, having fun, and feeling safe.

I’m not there to take photos. I’m there to pay attention to what’s already happening, with some gentle guidance based on who you are.

I’m a wedding photographer based in Toronto, shooting weddings across the GTA and wherever else you’ll have me. Film, digital, and camcorder. When I’m not photographing weddings, I love creating intimate boudoir sessions for couples.

One of the things I hear most often is that people forget I’m even in the room, and I take that as the highest compliment. Shoots like this require trust and vulnerability, and it means a lot to me to create a space where couples feel completely at ease.

I really love these bridal getting ready portraits at Wychwood Barnes. They remind me of old Hollywood glamour, almost as if we’re standing on a stage. When I first entered this room, I was worried about the lack of light. But as usual, I find I create the most interesting things within limitations.
