World Food Day, from farm to fire 🌎🔥

What better way to mark World Food Day than with highlighting a menu rooted in the land, shaped by the season, and brought to life by our brigade?

Our Chef’s Harvest Dining Series opened last night with Forage, celebrating PEI’s wild ingredients and the landscapes that inspire our cooking. From foraged mushrooms and spruce tips to wild mackerel and Island oysters, each dish tells a story of place and season, with our Culinary Farm complementing what the land offers. 🌿

🍂 Our Forage Weekend continues through tomorrow, with dining reservations sold out. A limited number of overnight stays remain, with guaranteed seats at the Feast for overnight guests.

Next, our brigade explores flavours and culinary traditions from further afield, bringing new perspectives to the table.

The Last Tuna of the Season 🐟🔥

Landed in North Lake, just down the road, this PEI bluefin tuna brings a true taste of our Island surroundings to the kitchen.

Our final tuna breakdown of the season brought four of our chefs together to get hands on, learn from one another, and work with an exceptional local ingredient. With Chef Michael, team members, and guests gathering to watch and sample the fresh tuna, it’s a chance to share the craft and creativity behind our culinary experience.

While much of PEI’s bluefin tuna travels overseas, this one will be enjoyed right here at the Inn, from our kitchen to our guests’ plates. Some bites have already been enjoyed, with more to come at Chefs’ Harvest this fall.

Saturday night marked our final FireWorks Feast of the season, ending with a well deserved toast from our Fire Brigade to celebrate another season of hard work, creativity and unforgettable evenings around the table.

From our chefs, sommeliers and servers to our farmers, housekeepers, guest services, office team and everyone behind the scenes, every person plays a part in bringing these experiences to life. We’re incredibly grateful for the care and dedication that goes into every detail, and for everyone who helped make this season so memorable.

Tonight marks the final FireWorks Feast of the season, and before we close this chapter, it’s time to celebrate the culinary team who have helped bring it all to life.

From harvesting on the farm and creating in the kitchen to the energy of Oyster Hour, the magic of the Feast and breakfast each morning, our Fire Brigade plays a part in every step of the experience. From our chefs and cooks to our pastry team and dishwashing crew, every role matters.

Some have been here since the beginning, others joined us along the way, and some have already headed home for school or new adventures. Each has left their mark on the season, and we’re so grateful for the talent, teamwork and care they’ve brought to the Inn.

A little greenhouse experiment, now ready for its first taste. 🌱

This year, the farm team tried growing turmeric for the first time. There were a few lessons along the way, a few notes made for next season, and finally, a harvest worth getting a little excited about.

Chef Michael and the team had to taste it straight from the soil, of course. Fresh turmeric, grown right here in Fortune Bay, with a flavour that belongs to this particular season and place.
