On that note, we hope to see you soon! Specifically, at our Fundraiser to Fight Deed Theft on 10/13 at @bossanovacivicclub. Come party with and raise money for another great cause. by @inputoutput.mp3

Input Output and @teamcybersoul present Input x Cybersoul: Fundraiser to Fight Deed Theft, with help from our friends at @gaysgetpolitical!

We’re throwing a party for the city we love, and raising money to help protect the people who make it home.

Deed theft is one of the quieter ways New Yorkers become targets for predatory real-estate practices. Through forged documents, deceptive contracts, or other forms of fraud, scammers can take control of someone’s home without their knowledge. For longtime homeowners, losing a deed can mean losing a home, a lifetime of equity, and generational wealth. And as neighborhoods change and property values rise, the stakes only get higher.

So we’re bringing together some of our favorite DJs and producers for a night of music and solidarity. 100% of profits will go to The Center for NYC Neighborhoods, supporting their work to protect homeowners and fight displacement across New York City.

Donations at the door are suggested but not mandatory. No RSVP necessary. Click “Interested” on the RA link in our bio for updates.

Come dance and show some love for your neighbors

Why we’re fundraising for Immigrant Defense Project (IDP)

As an immigrant-founded party series, we want to uplift immigrants and non-citizens whenever and however we can. Booking an all-immigrant lineup, as we’ve done for this event, is one way of doing that. But we also know that celebrating our community is not enough when thousands of immigrants and non-citizens are being brutalized, incarcerated, and deported by a country that has long benefited from their labor.

For the last 30 years, IDP has fought against the mass imprisonment and deportation of immigrants across the United States. Under current federal attacks, IDP is steadfast in their work fighting for immigrant justice through direct legal assistance and litigation, litigation, trainings and education, policy advocacy and narrative change. IDP believes that nobody is disposable and every human being deserves dignity

This event is free. We want everyone to come dance, celebrate, and enjoy these incredible artists. We will, however, be asking for donations at the door to support IDP’s work protecting our communities.

See you all on Thursday!

Xx

Meet our All-Immigrant Lineup:

Throughout New York City’s history, immigrants have shaped the culture of this city. Our music scene is no exception. From Brooklyn to The Bronx, some of New York’s best nights have been soundtracked by DJs and producers whose roots span the globe. Our first-ever Input x Next Generation Party is a celebration of that history and a show of solidarity with the immigrant communities that make our music scene and our city what it is.

Instead of traditional promotional photos, we asked our artists to share pictures of themselves at home, wherever “home” is to them, and to tell us a little about their perspective on migration and music.

Our party is on 9/24 at @silobrooklyn

100% of proceeds from the party will go to the @immdefense.

Swipe to meet these incredible artists and hear their stories 🧡

Xx,

How has migration impacted who you are as an artist?

Moving from Italy to Lisbon and then New York gave me a chance to start fresh somewhere with no fixed version of myself attached, so I could question habits and identity. It definitely challenged me as a DJ: the records may be the same, but every dancefloor interprets them differently, and you learn to connect with the room.

In your opinion, why are immigrants important to the music scene in NYC?

I think immigrants keep a music scene from becoming too much self-refential and in love with itself. In a city like New York, different ideas are constantly mixing, being interpreted, misunderstood, adapted and recombined, and that’s where new stuff come from. Without fresh pairs of ears constantly coming in, a music scene can easily become enamoured of its own traditions and stale.

@brunolimmamusik

How has being an immigrant impacted your journey as an artist?

I first moved to the USA in 2009, when I was already a music producer and DJ. Being an artist and moving to a new country is very challenging. You have to adapt to a new culture and a new life while still finding a way to keep doing what you love.

I went back to Brazil in 2011, where I spent two years playing and producing music, before deciding to return to the USA in 2014.

Pride started as an uprising: a riot against violent oppression and a rallying cry for civil rights.

It has since evolved into a jam-packed social calendar and an excuse to go out. So we reverse engineered it, because Pride is so much more than the next party.

On June 25, we hosted Pride for Palestine, a fundraiser dance party alongside @hotgirlsorganize and @inputoutput.mp3

Together, our communities raised $3,000 to support the lifesaving work that UNRWA and MedGlobal continue to do in Palestine.
Check out their websites and see how you can support them. @unrwausa @medglobalorg

Thank you to our powerful speakers for sharing their stories and knowledge. @transasylias

Thank you to our outstanding DJs and everyone who came out to have a good time for a good cause.

The fight for queer liberation is far from over. As a cause for human rights, it is deeply interconnected with Palestinian liberation.

Say no to pinkwashing. End the genocide and block the bombs. Solidarity forever.
