material analysis / close-up shots of AW26 ‘L’Sumatra’ Jacket : made with sheepskin / embossed cowhide leather, oxidized metals & more +

analysis:
This jacket was heavily inspired by the current wave of ‘Hedi’ resurgence, we combined many elements of leathers and construction patterns to create something that felt both old and new. With the specificity focused on the black snake embossed cowhide leather, using a 4oz gauge, to create a nice thick feeling to the garment that’s complimented by a softer sheepskin leather on the strap paneling and neck. We also focused on a silhouette that was much skinnier than what we were used to, our older construction models are more evolved in a baggier silhouette. Each piece also utilizes a lining that’ll separate this heavy leather paneling with a nice black Cupro fabric. Hopefully it doesn’t seem too ‘trendy’ in its iteration, but we have a stark belief in re-defining whatever currently is popular in the zeitgeist and really trying to push the limit of how far and maximalist the design can be taken without presenting something that feels tacky.
