Truly unbelievable experience. THANK YOU OYL, THANK YOU NOJIRI VILLAGE! The last four weeks, I have circumnavigated the globe, getting hands on experience with ancient practices like Bhavageethe, Bharatanatyam, Yakshagana, Noh, Kabuki, and Suzuki, and I feel changed and inspired and ready to travel and explore and create and connect! This sweet, silly, emotionally entangled play explores the beauty in loving someone who doesn’t love you in the same way, in loving someone for who they used to be, in loving the idea of love. 03.11.26 💌 In a program note for our quartet's commission project, I wrote: "Art, as the natural evolution of imagination, is a responsibility of resistance." Building this project -- world premieres of new works by five young queer & trans composers of color -- was a reflection of this value we hold very dear to ourselves.

🌬️ I'm moved to be in collaboration with fellow comrades & cultural workers who, despite the chaos and violence of the world, continue to inspire us all to believe in art as something bigger than a simplistic beauty. Our art, as a result of our lived realities and experiences, is both sobering and galvanizing, intimate and expansive. Grateful every day for this community 🫶

This project was supported from the ground up by community members & artists who, like us, believe in the arts as actionable hope, and an integral part of building a better world. All remaining donations for this project will be redirected to El Centro in Lorain County @oberlin_ecvi to support immigrant communities in NE Ohio. We encourage everyone to join us in supporting this amazing and crucial organization! ❤️

We are so looking forward to continuing to present "Love Letters" as a full program each work individually in concerts over the next season, and we cannot wait for everyone to hear what these revolutionary & innovative young composers have created 🌎

HEAR THEM IN APRIL:
4/24 Cincinnati, OH @uc_ccm *With lighting design
4/26 x2 concerts in NYC: @lyrical.libations and @gather_nyc

What a dream-come-true to be a part of this production, to have knocked on the gates of the Divinity with such an incredible cast and creative team. Thank you for this wonderful, cathartic, joyful, breathtaking, heartbreaking experience. Truly mindblowing not only to be a part of this journey but seeing the way it has impacted those I love. I feel warm, and complete, and comforted 🍊
