My little G turned one year older today, and I feel the exact same way I feel every year - HOW does the time fly by so dang fast?! He is such an old soul filled with such goodness. A deep thinker. Quiet but so incredibly strong. With a heart we are blessed to be loved by. And a memory that never forgets a single detail! I know this has been a difficult time for everyone, but he said something at the beginning of covid and I love his outlook on all of this - “I love computer school mommy. I get to learn AND be with my family all the time!” He cares so much for others, and has such a tender heart. I hope he keeps that for his whole life. And today before bed he reminded me that no matter how old he gets, he has no plans of moving. 😂😂 Happy Birthday baby boy!! I love you. So much and too much. ❤️ by @inspiredandorganized

Another stage, another sale 🙌🏼

So I fell off the face of the Insta earth again…Sorry friends! I’m thinking it might be time to hire a part time social media manager 😬😂 If you know someone please send them my way.

There are a few things that are definitely worth the investment when getting a home market ready. Painting, cleaning or replacing carpets and staging to name a few. And I love being part of that team! And although it may not seem like a big deal, styling shelves or a bookcase can really help elevate your photos. In a digitally driven world, those pictures are gold!🥇

I read a book called Grace not Perfection by @emilyley. Recently I’ve been pressing the clovers I find in its pages, and every single time I flip to a new page something I need is staring right back at me. We all go through seasons when we question our worth. If that’s you right now, don’t forget that you have survived every single thing that’s ever tried to take you down. And that you, in all of your unique and beautiful ways, are more than enough! 💕🖤

Play areas not only give kids a place to have fun - they provide a dedicated space for them to be creative, while learning SO much about the world around them.

Play has been shown to improve children’s social and emotional well being. It has also been associated with positive behaviors such as being flexible, cooperative, optimistic, empathetic and productive. Kids can also become great problem solvers through play!

Whether you have an entire room, or just a corner, you can create a very special place.

1️⃣ Start by deciding what area you’ll be setting up in.
(If you can only spare a smaller, more temporary space that needs to be put away regularly? A teepee or tent work great!)

2️⃣ Next, look for pieces that are attractive and multi-functional. Benches with storage compartments, cube storage, baskets and shelves are just a few ideas.

3️⃣ Involve your children in the process! This will be their magical place, and getting their input will do two things. First, you’ll get some GREAT ideas! And second, they’ll feel some ownership over the space. This can help keep things tidy and organized.

This. Honey. 😍 From @firstlightfarm_carnation. One of my sons has the WORST allergies. Poor guy has to take medication most days in the Spring and Summer, and still has a really hard time. Life isn’t as enjoyable when you’re constantly sneezing and feel like you have peas stuck up your nose.

Well this year we tried something different. A more natural approach - honey. And not just “local from Washington” but *hyper* local. I figured what would it hurt right?

Guys. 😲 I really didn’t have super high hopes, as I had already been feeding my family local organic honey for years. But WOAH. His results have been pretty miraculous. My guy hasn’t had to take any medication in over a month, and is able to live his fullest, best, nature loving life again! 🙌🏼

1 small spoon, morning or night. Another one of nature’s cures.

Have any of you had luck treating your allergies with honey? What about any other conditions or ailments?

Honey has been used to treat burns, throat irritation and coughs, and is a great alternative to ointments used in wound healing. But those are just a few of the uses offered by this powerhouse. It is also an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal agent. Honey is full of antioxidants, boosts immunity and is good for your heart, liver and gastrointestinal health. And it lasts forever! Well…. Unless it’s in my house 😆

I’ve been told that ✨before and afters✨ are a favorite here…. So I’ve got one that can be easily taken care of, but will make a big impact - your laundry room/area! These tips will be helpful for staging *or* organizing.

When selling your home, you definitely want to clear the clutter and create an attractive space that won’t make people dread this chore (Goal: no negative thoughts when touring your beautiful home). But why not do that for yourself as well? 🙌🏼

So here it goes -

Step 1: Declutter and only keep what you’ve actually used in the past 6-9 months (unless it’s a specialty product).

Step 2: Clear and wipe down the counters, inside cabinets and drawers.

Step 3: Decant detergent, dryer balls/sheets, stain fighters, etc into easy to use containers (and label if you’re really feelin’ it!) Then put any remaining items in a basket.

Step 4: Add a few accessories or a plant.

That’s it friend! Getting this area locked in will not only help sell your house, it will make laundry day less daunting too!

✨Goal:✨Create an attractive office space, while also making sure the homeowner is able to use their desk while the house was listed.

Occupied stages can be a bit tricky at times. You are likely using a lot of existing furniture, and the people living there will need to have their lives disrupted as little as possible. But it can be done, in a way that works for everyone! And the payoff is always worth it.

A lot of people call me when they have reached their limit. When the clutter and disorganization in their homes has been causing them stress for quite some time. And one thing I hear a lot is that they waited because the process seems so daunting.

So just like I share with them, I want you to know that there’s no rule book for getting organized. There’s no time limit, or strict list. And most of all, I truly believe in going at the pace that works best for you. Small steps really do add up to big results. And when you go at your own pace (whether that’s slow and steady, or super fast), the results tend to stick.

So if you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed, please give me a call. Even if you’re not quite ready to take that first step. I’d love to talk with you, answer your questions, and help you make a plan. The summer is a really great time to start the conversation. 💕

And if you plan on listing in the Fall, getting started while the days are long, and the rainy days are rare (without a looming deadline) is a real gift. 💕
