Fathers, I personally have had days where the stress of work, finances, and life followed me home.

I’ve learned that just because I’m having a hard day doesn’t mean my kids should have to experience it with me.

Our children deserve consistency, patience, and a father they feel comfortable being around.

We can’t always control what life throws at us, but we can work on how we respond to it.

That’s leadership at home.

Sitting around the fire with my two of my daughters reminded me of something.

Right now, they tell me the little things. The funny stories, the random questions, and everything that happened during their day.

But one day, those conversations will get a lot harder.

And when that day comes, I want them to know they can come to me with anything.

Even when they mess up or even when they’re scared.

Because the trust they’ll need tomorrow is being built in the little moments today.

Look, one thing I’ve been learning about myself recently is that I’ve been really good at forgiving people, but not always good at protecting myself from the same patterns.

I’ve gone back to things I knew weren’t good for me. Not because anything had changed, but because they were familiar.

And that’s a hard truth to admit.

As fathers, we talk a lot about leading our children. But leadership starts with how we lead ourselves, especially when nobody is watching.

It’s about having the courage to make the difficult decisions, even when part of us wants to go back to what’s comfortable.

I’m still learning, still growing, still working on becoming a man who follows through on what he knows is right because I know I’m not perfect.

Because our children don’t just learn from what we tell them.

They learn from what we continue to tolerate, what we choose, and who we become.

Forgive people, LOVE people but don’t lose yourself trying to hold on to them.

The next chapter is up to you. Be the hero.

Fathers, life moves fast, and sometimes I wish I could slow it down just a little.

Watching my girls grow, laugh, and make memories together reminds me how much beauty there is in the simplest moments.

These are the days I’ll miss someday. ❤️
