The throwback trend has gotten me sorting through some reasonably recent stuff from immediately pre-Ellie that I never got around to posting. These are photos from our visit to the gorgeous Antelope Canyon in Arizona.

The well-known landmark resides on Native American territory and has had sharply reduced visitors in recent years to prevent overtourism and damage to fragile environment. Reservations with a local guide are mandatory, in part to ensure safety, since the area is also known to flash flood. Driving to the location itself involves climbing into the back of rickety trucks and enduring a dusty, bumpy off-road ride with seemingly non-existent suspension and support. Honestly though, we loved it as part of the experience.

The walk through the canyon itself definitely was worth the trip, and can be somewhat uncertain due to the aforementioned weather and natural variation inlighting conditions which could have ruined the entire visit. Instead, we were treated to one of nature's most unique experiences. taken in Antelope Canyon by @insta_kapham

#2016 Throwback trend post. I was still 4 years away at this point from finishing the degree, working full time and struggling to keep up in general. I found ways to amuse myself, as you can see from my whiteboard. I had a lot going on in the personal life between family struggles and my own relationship stuff which I'm quite glad is well behind me. For those keeping track, this is about a year or two before I would meet my now wife. Good friends dragged me out to a Zedd concert at one point that year and I had a blast. Got into pretty decent shape as well, which I'd really, really like to get back to at some point.

All in all, an eventful year, some good, a lot of it actually pretty bad. I'm much happier these days for sure. by @insta_kapham

Xmas is pretty different this year! Lots of catch up time with the Phamily (with a little fussiness), including meeting little cousin Maya for the first time! Was able to get a nice haul of presents and also spend a little quiet time by our tree. by @insta_kapham
