Rebuilding our community is going to be a fabric of our daily lives for the foreseeable future. Whether you’re a first responder, a bar owner, or an accountant, everyone has a purpose they can activate to assist.

Here are a few things I saw/learned during our convoy out west to deliver aid that I think could be helpful for others looking to do the same:

1. We took the main roads through Santa Cruz, Holland Bamboo and it took us about 7+ hours. Many areas are down to one lane. Leave early (4am) and drive into the morning light if coming from Kingston so you can reach mid day. Eat well, being food for yourself on the drive and water. Fill up your tank and bring extra gas on your way.
2. There’s been many reports about looting and violence, we did not experience any of that, however please yes go in groups, only drive SUV’s and just be smart about how you go about distributing aid.
3. There is absolutely no power or cell service once we got to Goshen (from Kingston).
4. This is the very beginning. What we saw is a lot of people fending for themselves and not a lot of official presence (yet), the days to come we will find out so much more and increased paths will be cleared for more aid to get to those most heavily impacted.

- If you’re looking for a place to donate clothing and non perishable items in Kingston, drop off at @tribeninestudios tomorrow (11/2) and @zenbowlsja @elenisjamaica starting 11/1.
- @lynnswaby has a relief fund directly assisting Black River check her page and link in bio.
- Reputable ways to donate @rockhousefoundation @walkgoodla @jakestreasurebeach @handshelpjamaica @afjcares and the official relief website (supportjamaica.gov.jm) powered by the government of Jamaica

Yes, we need your prayers and love but let that manifest to ACTION. Whether abroad or in unaffected areas of Jamaica, now is *not* the time to sit around and asking or hypothesizing - start doing. If you’re seeing this post you now have no excuse.

I’ll be editing this post as I know more and also sending communication to @theworkingremotely network very soon with more details on how to help families directly. Jamaica needs critical help.
