7 YEARS ✨

Today marks 7 years, 2,557 days, since August 4, 2019.

Seven years ago, I made a choice without fully understanding everything it would make possible. I thought I was leaving something behind. In reality, I was making room,for clarity, self-respect, deeper relationships and a life I could finally be fully present for.

Some years simply pass. Others show you what can happen when your choices begin to match the life you say you want.

Sobriety has not made every day easy, but it has made every day mine. It has taught me to sit with discomfort without immediately trying to escape it, to hear my own voice beneath the noise and to understand that peace begins when your life and your choices stop contradicting each other.

The greatest changes have not always been visible. They live in the boundaries I now keep, the patterns I am willing to question, the conversations I no longer avoid and the trust that comes from keeping promises to myself.

Growth is not always becoming more. Sometimes it is releasing what keeps asking you to become less.

I look back at the person I was in 2019 with compassion. He did not know exactly what came next. He only knew something had to change, and trusted himself enough to begin before he felt ready.

That choice did not instantly transform my life. It gave me the chance to transform it myself.

Seven years later, I am proud of the person I have become,not because I have figured everything out, but because I continue to meet my life honestly. I know my worth more deeply, protect my peace more intentionally and understand that becoming yourself is not a destination. It is a decision you keep making.

Here’s to year 8. To the quiet choices that change everything. To anyone learning to trust their own voice again. And to everyone becoming the peace they once searched for everywhere else.

Entering my Level 4.3 ERA. 🎂💪

The older I get, the less I take the basics for granted: waking up, being healthy, having a roof over my head, work to do, people I love, and all my faculties intact. The ability to think, move, laugh, create, make my own choices, and keep building a life for myself, none of that is small.

I’m especially grateful for my sobriety and for the life I’ve been able to build on the other side of the things that once had too much control over me.

Forty-three years of changes, losses, lessons, wins, reinvention, some very questionable decisions and finally - some NEW HAIR 😂😈😏I don’t have everything figured out, and honestly, I’m starting to understand that isn’t the point.

What a blessing it is to still be here, present (for the most part), grateful, still evolving, and genuinely curious about what comes next.
