Two weeks of moose camp exposed AAA and mom and dad to so many new and exciting things as a family and as individuals.

I’m convinced that game cameras are the gateway to hunting 😅 #ad

Check out @mefishwildlife‘s youth hunting page at the link in my bio for answers to any questions you may have about getting out there for the first time with your family, or back out there after a few seasons away! From day one, we have shown AAA countless game camera photos and videos from anything from porcupines (her personal favorite), to bears, moose, flying squirrels, and even her grandparents walking around, and it has been a great tool to engage her in our passion of hunting and simply being outside.

Last year, we were able to have our first real hunting adventure of being able to take a nice doe as a family. We were able to really walk through and lead AAA (age one) through the whole process together. Watching deer, picking one we were happy with, making the clean shot, following a short blood trail, recovering the kill, gutting it, getting it out of the field and back home, to then processing all the meat and then eating it as a meal.

Hunting and being outside is such an important thing in our lives and we have just not thought anything different about bringing AAA along with us.

Now she is two, with a continued interest in game cameras. We’ve rolled with it and have given her tasks of carrying her own camera in the woods like mom and dad and pointing them out when we get close to them.

Game cameras really are a great way to get the family involved by getting outside and setting them up, going and checking the cards as often as you can, or getting photos sent directly to you.

Pregnancies have been interesting for me. I’ve wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember and so grateful to get that opportunity these days, but full disclosure, I live a very ‘believe it when I see it’ mentality with the babies.
I’ve lost two so far in this journey, and really only recently have embraced the fact that we have another little one joining us so soon!
Everyone handles these situations differently, and that’s okay! It is also not lost on me that not everyone gets this opportunity that wants it. ❤️

Also - being pregnant with a toddler has been very different than not having a toddler 😅😂

I am still very much still trying to figure out how to get anything done with a kid around …. 😅

BUT including her has been so much fun, forces you to slow down, and in a way really prioritize things as well as learn things through a new eye or perspective.

What is cool is that she already recognized process and will ask to do them again or remember doing them when we see others doing it! And honestly kids just want to be included!

I’ll take that as a win! 🙌🏻🤓

Our summer was jam packed - all good things, just a lot of them!
We feel like we are finally getting the chance to go do the things that we love to do.
