Fugazi. Washington DC. August 7, 1993. Concert for Justice.

With Turnstile announcing a free benefit show at the Washington Monument on October 24, here’s a collage of my photographs from Fugazi’s 1993 show at the Sylvan Theater. Most haven’t been seen before.

Good to see the punk spirit alive, with Turnstile raising funds for humanitarian relief in Palestine, Sudan and Lebanon.

#fuckcancer Thank you @jenniferfinch @l7theband for the privilege of hearing and seeing you perform at one of the most important gigs I ever photographed . April 1992 #rockforchoice I made this picture, along with some @theebikinikill photos and @fugazi_livearchive I have to say the smoke , flames and power of L7 @jenniferfinch still remain etched in my memory for ever. by @instapatgraham

Time has past and this song still has so much power that guitar riff gets me every time . I could not imagine seeing the @theshins in a hockey arena when I watched them play 26 years ago when I first discovered them thanks to Isaac . Thanks for such a great night James @theshins and @m1ch83lsch03nb3k by @instapatgraham

In 1998, we covered the walls of the Modest Mouse tour van ( the vansion) in Polaroids, building a moving gallery across America. This was our place.
That’s my friend Jeremy in the back of the van mid-tour. Tomorrow, I’m bringing some of those original 1998 Polaroids (alongside photographs shot just last week by Diane Krauthamer) to Sunday Commons in Friendship Heights.
I’ll be joined by photographer @diane.krauthamer , who will continue making new photographs of the Commons and document the gathering live. As apart of ….
📸 How We Photograph a Place
Join our interactive photo exercise: choose a Person, Detail, or Moment to capture, or stop by to browse the prints, eat food , exercise, make a collage , and so much more.

Date: Sunday, Sept. 6 · 10 AM – 2 PM
