First ever booth design ✅ Great HFA conference with the @eleikosport. Huge privilege to be in this group and be a part of a legacy that’s been building since 1957. by @instashayneo

Woke up this morning and chose violence. Learned something today, absolutely can move more weight on zerchers than front squats and it’s not even really close.

Hey @digmarc, you having a Strong Saturday?

Lifetime PR back squat at 505. Knew the first dose of Pfizer would lead to some PRs. Just takes a few days to set in. Get those shots to help your squats!

Taking a moment to express some gratitude. The past month and a half has been without a doubt the best stretch I can ever remember being a part of, both personally and professionally. In the past 45 days:

✅ I married the love of my life
✅ Traveled to Dallas to watch my cousin get married
✅ Traveled to Sweden for the @eleikosport Global conference
✅ Had our first full in person design meeting as a global design team
✅ jumped in a Sauna that overlooked the Baltic Sea, then cold plunged into the Baltic Sea
✅ Between my rehearsal dinner and the conference, I’ve been on stage singing and playing guitar 3 times (doubling my lifetime total of performances in the process)
✅ Spent an incredible day in Copenhagen with my wife and teammates
✅ Spent a week in Italy for our honeymoon
✅ One of the most extensive and impactful projects I’ve ever had the opportunity to design in @thisgymatx opened its doors.
✅ Closed on the project that I can confidently say I’ve spent the most time in my career designing (I will be able to talk more about this down the road)
❌ Feel like I’ve barely slept in the process

There’s very few times where you get to spend such quality time with your family, your friends, and your coworkers all in one month. The memories I’ve made in these past 45 days are ones that I will cherish for a lifetime and it’s hard to fully express how fulfilling these experiences have been. On top of all of that, as a conceptual designer, the most rewarding part of the job is to see these projects come to life and begin to see people enjoying the space in real life. THIS Gym is an incredible facility and I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to work with @timrileytraining to help bring his vision to life.

All of this feels like the closing of an incredible chapter of life that I will always look back on with nothing but fond memories. Thank you to everyone that was a part of it. Couldn’t be more humbled by the opportunities that life has presented. by @instashayneo

Little training dump from the week. All Killer, No Filler this block. Calling this the Cheddar Bob Program because my legs are shot. by @instashayneo

“Only 364 days left until next year’s hockey tryouts, gotta toughen up”

Full disclosure, not a Bruins fan. Me and my roommates just used to play NHL 2014 to see who was buying beer for the night and if you drew the Bruins, it was customary that you had to drop the gloves at least 3 times with Zdeno Chára.

Full menu for the day:
1. Clean pull - 5x3 (last two at 90% 1RM clean)
2. Hand assist SSB Tempo Split Squat - 4x5e
3. Bent Knee Incline Glute Extension - 2x15e
4. DB Goblet Cossack Squat - 2x10e by @instashayneo

Quick render dump from the last couple of years. I don’t do this enough, but last week was a big week of reflection for me. Did a little bit of travel for work and reconnected with a lot of folks I’ve met through this journey in the fitness/S&C industry. The biggest conclusions I had at the end of it are that I’m incredibly lucky to have this job, and I’d like to share more of that work when it’s possible.

It’s sometimes weird to describe to people how I went from coaching to design, but the shift overall has felt very natural. It’s become a weird niche of a creative outlet that builds on something I’m passionate about, which is the gym.

I’ve had the opportunity to work on spaces in the collegiate athletic space, rec facilities, home gyms, hotels, and some of the craziest commercial gyms I’ve ever laid eyes on. Every project is a learning opportunity from coaches and operators that have skin in the game, and are now at a point where they can execute their vision for their ideal training environment.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to somehow get paid to play 3D Legos and help people create their dream facilities. by @instashayneo

After a year and a half of designing a bunch commercial gyms that I wish were my main gym, finally bit the bullet and invested in going to a very nice gym. In an area that has no shortage of big box and chain gyms, @1858athleticclub is absolutely a cut above. You can tell the amount of homework that went into each piece that’s on the gym floor. Only two training sessions in and I f**king love it.

Side note: could not be more stoked to have a pendulum squat in my life. Legs were absolutely toast after this. by @instashayneo

“LIGHT WEIGHT BABY!!!!”

First time over 500 in 4 years and more importantly, for the first time in my 30s! Gotta show the young bucks at the big box gym what all these weights are for. Also worth noting, not a single “UP!” was uttered from the gallery on this one, which is a criminal offense in some countries. by @instashayneo

The rodeo roadtrip continues! Next month, after 5 years away, @madison_rose_lord and I are moving back to Georgia. Washington and Memphis were incredible to us, we made some incredible friends and memories along the way, but the goal has always been to get back to Georgia one day and plant some roots. Georgia was the first place that felt like home for me since leaving Iowa after I finished school and we are both excited to finally be back for good. by @instashayneo

First time back at my alma mater in about 10 years. Thank you to @wartburgfb and @wartburg_strength for letting me swing through and see the new facilities. Truly hit me right in the feels and brought back a ton of memories. As always, Wartburg athletics are in great hands. by @instashayneo

One year with @eleikosport. In a year that presented highs and lows in my personal life, it was by far the most professionally rewarding year of my life. I’ve had a chance to see the field that I’ve worked in for the past decade through a new lens, travel the country (plus one trip to Sweden shown here), and work with coaches and operators from so many different facets of the fitness industry.

I want to thank everyone on the global team that I’ve had the chance to connect with that have made this such an unbelievable year. I’m very grateful to be a part of this team and a small part in the rich legacy that this company has been building since 1957. Cheers to many more #RaiseTheBar by @instashayneo
