We are finally in sight of the finish line!!! #b20vteg is nearing the LAST 3 ITEMS needed for our debut at a track day!!! Very excited to finally be at this point! After weeks of printing, testing, and adjusting the prototype I have successfully created my first FULL carbon (forged) automotive part! Introducing my “MK1” shift knob! Well almost, this is my first complete project of carbon with my 3d printed mold process! Most projects involve vacuum infusion, and/or gel fiberglass molding, whereas this project is a complete print to mold carbon fiber product! Unlike most carbon fiber items a shift knob requires a little weight for better shift quality, you can see here compared to a 6061 billet knob mine is significantly heavier without being overweighted! With 17mm nutsert this unit can be fitted to almost any thread pitch! Still fine tuning the process will update with finished quality photos once it is clear coated/sanded! #forged #carbonfiberparts #3dmold by @integranator
