Box room 2m x 2m transformation. Trying Wickes @wickes paint colours and zero labour costs. Added Slim Dado Rail from Wickes as well. Colour drench half way included the back of the door! Front door will be painted later to be cohesive with other rooms in the house. Such a painting joy with the children. The girl wanted a unicorn mermaid theme with lilac (well purple at first) but I chose lilac for warmer vibe and glad she likes it. My son's painting skill has also improved and the girl kept saying 'This looks really good Mama'. Can be done easier with kids as I will fit in a new carpet soon, so carpet mess who cares?! More to come. by @interiorbeaathome

Started this project with a help of a friend/handyman who was helpful, supportive and kind. Created a fireplace area as a focal point (electric fireplace, but yes I wish I have a real one). Also another friend came to help putting up the shelves few months after that. I put up the mirror and wall lights myself. Painted the whole living room myself as well, which has now finally finished. Slow progress during summer and autum 2025. Sunflowers from our own garden 🌻 Will post more on living room progress later. by @interiorbeaathome

Second space completed in the same month after the downstairs loo. Ripped everything, repainted, made it to work for small people and me. Reused the old shoe bench, taken off the storage and replaced with baskets instead because it's more practical for children. The hardest bit is to tackle the small entrance space and still trying to make it work and practical. I wanted to add a shelving here on the wall, but will save it for another day as the need arise. Extra shoes are saved and hidden omewhere else depending on the seasons. by @interiorbeaathome

Transformation of the small loo, downstairs toilet, June 2025. From nothing to something that I never imagined could happen and turned out 'fun'. From zero skills of DIY, from fixing small toilet seat, challenging wallpaper project due to slunt ceiling, laying down lino flooring by myself, drilling the wall and many more beginners skills. All worth it. Most importantly my children were so proud of the guest toilet that we hardly used, but needs fixing. Instead of just fixing, this project managed to fix me on discovering my passion, fixing and decorating. What do you think of my first home project? 🏠🚽🫟 by @interiorbeaathome

My first decorating (painting job) was last Tuesday evening. The whole Magnolia (yellowish) paint colour all over the house is so dated. So I planned and painted the entrance porch using Dulux Egyptian Cotton. It only took 4-5hrs for me 😆 just for the first coat! But so satisfying and glad the colour turned out well as expected. i guess I was too anxious about this colour and the paint hasn't been opened since I bought them in Dec last year. So relief the look is what I wanted as a tester for the living room. by @interiorbeaathome

Life of a single person/parent/woman/migrant. Found a better deal to get the garden fence panels replaced from its old rotten state. But it also means I have to get rid of the old ones myself. So 2 trips to the tip/recycling centre last weekend plus the moving of all these panels into and out of the car. So glad it's clear now and new panels are up 🏡 by @interiorbeaathome

From vision to mission. I think I found my mojo. Wall paneling up but missing nail gun. This is from a wall paneling kit, so no need to 'pening kepala' to calculate the edge and the degree etc. Still needs few measurement and calculation to be done but very good experience so far. Able to keep them on the wall using vinyl adhesive for now until I found out if the nail gun could work! The rail looks lush with its thickness, but I prefer a simpler one so I can easily nail them. Can't wait for painting next 🪚 🎨 by @interiorbeaathome

I had a plan to change the flooring of this downstairs toilet in one year time. But my 'diy' son had this toilet blocked again with obsession of using 100 toilet rolls when he's in the toilet and the sewage water gushed out into the whole carpet 🤦🏽 even up to the front porch carpet. So I'm stripping them off today because it has been three days and it won't dry quickly during this cold weather. No idea why the orevious owner had to have carpet in a toilet at the first place. But before the exciting flooring and toilet project, this radiator need to be out as well because it's getting rusty. by @interiorbeaathome

The decision to buying a new property of my own and the children. First is the location. Near school and near a field that we can just do a long walk, out of the house with our walking boots. Second is safety and community neighbourhood for me. As I didn't grow up in this country, these elements makes me feel more secure that people will look out for each other. Third is built of the house itself. This house was only built in 2007, unlike older house there maybe problem that may incur more cost for me to fix. Of course, despite the above, the size of the house, no. Of bedrooms etc are the first filter in #rightmove.
