There were multiple people who spent YEARS building The Intersection Room and Programming for #pax . We weren't perfect but we did the work and had actual knowledge of how to plan and run these types of spaces.

We were intentional about everything.

Now that ReedPop and Penny arcade have gutted the program and given the room to an organization who admitted that they don't know how, can't and won't do that work, the #PAXWest Intersection Room has already lost everything that made it intentional, and intersectional.

SHAME on everyone involved in continuing to try and pass this off as an intersectional space. There is nothing Intersectional nor accessible about a room that can't even be navigated by mobility devices with tables that make it hard to talk to and hear everyone at the table.

The displaced Black, Brown and Disabled people to save a few dollars, not have to train enforcers, and give control back to White people who don't know how to create Intersectional spaces.

ReedPop really purged all the Black people who organized and managed The Intersection and cut all the programs that provided opportunities and badges to BIPOC, Disabled and LGBT2SQIA+ people, to do this lip service version of the room.

We deserve better.

Later this month, join us for Gaming 4 Every Body, a charity stream to raise money for @dotsrpg! We’ll be playing Dread, FIST, Star Borg, and Kala Mandala with fabulous and talented GMs and players, all disabled and all volunteering their time to help make gaming more accessible.

I have spent so much time and energy helping to make a Safer space for PAX. But now in 2026 PAX (ReedPop) is in full retreat from supporting their Diversity and Inclusion space and programing.

Please contact PAX and tell them to listen to their Black, Queer, Trans, and/Or Disabled contractors and staff.

Watching the little mental healthcare infrastructure, we have in the United States be privatized, looted and burned may not be surprising to those of us who have been paying attention, but it is sickening and distressing. These systems have never been safe but we really must think and build outside of them to meet the needs and maintain safety of providers and clients alike.

And yes, it is concerning is that all of this is coming in tandem with calls and attempts by the government to decrease access to medicine and care for mental health in favor of forced incarceration and work camps. I do not think it is an accident that all of this consolidation will help reduce barriers for the federal government to get access to data about service providers and users at a time where they are constantly overreaching to try and get records about dx and treatment particularly involving reproductive and trans care.

It's the last week of Mental Health Awareness Week and I don't think I've ever seen every therapy space on every platform this on fire ever.
