“Progress” and “what if we just paint it orange?” have been the words of the day onsite lately.

It’s been a labour of love at times, particularly for the basement dwellers, but we can confirm we are making progress!

We’re still slightly too nervous to put an official opening party date out into the ether… but it’ll be soon. Sooner than these photos may suggest.

One thing's for sure, 14 Montagu Terrace has great bones and an incredible late afternoon light.

And just like that, we’re two years old.

That mean’s two of @baynesfamilybakers finest fudge doughnuts and, very soon, two shops.

In and amongst the chaos of trying to open this second thing, we almost forgot that the first thing is two years old.  It’s been another wild year and as all small businesses in this country will know it’s not always plain sailing.

Nonetheless, the ups far outweigh the downs, the optimism is sky high, and we feel like we’re running in the right direction.

Most importantly we’re doing it with a class team around us, a truly incredibly community, and in a city that’s not too bad either.

Thanks for all the support - it means the world.

13:56 and the sub-14 5km barrier broken for @angus.smith3 this Saturday past in the @stride.athletics Pursuit 5000m Elite B race.

If a shop can be proud, then that’s exactly what we are.

The best bit? There’s plenty more to come.

Our second store is well on its way (sort of, not really), and we’re on the lookout for some part-time staff to join the motley crew you see above.

Hours are likely to be between 16–20 per week initially, with weekend work required. But plenty of room for growth etc etc.

Aside from that, all we’re looking for is that you’re a nice person who loves running, talking about running, and being around running. We’ll figure out the rest together!

Trail Sessions #4 – we back.

Join ourselves and Interval on Sunday 16th August for a wee trail race at the foot of The Pentlands.

10km route. Marked. Marshalled. Run, walk or jog. Post run we’ll settle into some big tasty burgers cooked over the fire and a few beers in the sun (or rain).

£30 per person including race entry, burger, sides, dessert and a runner’s goody bag.

There was a whole lot of love up Arthur’s Seat on Saturday, and we’ve just about recovered to pen down some thoughts.

The hill was absolutely bouncing in the sun. Pink Ribbon Walk, Pride March, tourists from all over the shop and, weaving through it all, a group of misfit runners going up and down, up and down, up and down. From 04:26-10:03.

Solstice is easily our favourite event of the year. Not because it’s ‘fun’ per se, but because it feels like the truest - and rawest - reflection of why we started Interval.

The brainchild of @lukewicker, a bit of an odd bloke with a good idea here and there. In his own words “i’m so glad you occasionally let me convince you to do mad shit.”

And mad shit it was, particularly from @thefrankieralph who surpassed @sky3kenny’s course record – completing 19 segments, totalling 107km and 4,768m elevation.

As a collective we crept over 300 segments and a cumulative distance of 1,600km.

But it’s not really about the records or the distance. It’s not really about anything. It is in fact, completely pointless. And that’s why we love it.

It’s only running?
