- Market research for Similar Roles
Based on current market value for other competing roles that I have been interviewing for the salary range is between X and X amount.

- Competing Offers
I've just received an offer yesterday with X amount. Although I would prefer your company, I cannot go below X

- Current Economic Climate
With rising inflation and an increasing cost of living a satisfactory salary of X is what is needed for me to accept this offer

1. The perfect candidate always gets the job
This isn't always the case. Personality and enthusiasm are just as important as technical skills

2. Interviewers are trying to trap you
Most often if you're called to an interview it's because the resume/CV you submitted gives the interviewers the impression you would be good fit

3. You can just wing the interview
You can't. Preparation is key. Knowing the company, role is always key in an interview
