@johnnygr3ig // Intimate Records 003 (VINYL ONLY) Johnny Greig is a Glasgow born vinyl DJ blending the tribal sounds of early 2000s techno with the precision of modern cuts. Influenced by Freddy K, Phara and Tarkno to name a few fellow vinyl enthusiasts, his sets dive deep into hypnotic grooves, driving percussion, and no nonsense energy. All spun strictly on wax. In this mix Johnny utilises his vinyl-only approach digging deep into his record bag to showcase the high quality of modern day productions. Starting deep and hypnotic the mix progressively transitions into the tribal side of techno with the BPM carefully rising. It takes the listener on a journey through his versatile sound keeping you locked in from the first track right to the very last. This is 1 hour of pure techno goodness, pieced together on 2 turntables and equipped with a bag full of black gold from labels such as Tar Hallow, Vault Records, Key, Mutual Rytm + Others. At Intimate Records, I want to shine a light on creative artists in the techno space. The focus is on music that feels unique, personal, and true to the vision of the artist behind it. I don’t believe in strict rules or setting heavy expectations. There are no fixed plans or rigid paths for where this label will go. What matters to me is creating a space where the music can speak for itself and where artists can be appreciated for what they bring to the scene. For myself, Intimate Records is about the journey as much as the music. I’m excited to see how it grows, who it connects with, and the directions it will naturally take over time.
