took a trip to what remains of les paul's mahwah, new jersey home today. unfortunately, the house was demolished back in august after the property was auctioned off.
what many people seem to look over while grazing les paul's career as a trailblazing guitarist and producer is that he was an inventor first, and every single musician on this planet owes some semblance of their career to les and his wife, mary ford.
the songs that were recorded on this property are not only timeless classics, but utilized and experimented with many recording techniques that are standard today, but were absolutely unheard of in the 1950's. this is the birthplace of multi-track recording, as well as countless effects that are now sold by hundreds of guitar pedal and amplifier manufacturers around the world. along with beating leo fender out on building the first true solid-body electric guitar, my summary is an understatement.
seeing the 50's ampex reel-to-reel and tape relays sitting on the side of the property is an absolute travesty and i find it insulting that this stuff wasn't donated to a museum, rather than being disgarded and left to rot in the rain for over a month. some of you may consider me taking that early 50's ampex reel-to-reel as theft, but i consider it preservation of history.
thank you les, and mary, for your immeasurable contributions to popular music and the musical instrument/recording industry. legends never die, even if some stupid jersey suit-and-ties think a new smart mansion would better-suit the property. thank you for the music.

across the states '26.
january 22-march 6.
on tour for 6 weeks, 42 shows. every sale helps us get to wherever we've gotta go! 🧪🧪🧪

best six weeks of my life with my brothers in arms. spent some time with my family in florida, and then another couple days with them again in texas. made things feel so much less foreign, and more like a long vacation.

thanks to all the friends and faces we saw along the way, and for making our trip one that i won't ever forget. i hope you all like these pictures cause they're some of my very favorites.

if you woulda told me back when i was 15 that i'd literally be living out my childhood dreams, i wouldn't have ever believed you. do what you wanna do and don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise. book your own shows and get the fuck out onto the road. you'll never want to come back. by @intothevxid
