I lost my shop, my marriage, my family💔, and the stability I worked so hard for. For two years, I was living out of my van 🚐, trying to figure out my next move. Black people have to be careful about how quickly we rally behind people just because they look like us or say what we want to hear. Breaking news: Officer Tatum has entered the conversation surrounding the mysterious death of Nolan Wells, the young Black man who disappeared during a July 4 boat trip with white friends and was later found dead. His cause of death remains undetermined, and the investigation is still ongoing. Tatum recently interviewed one of Nolan’s friends who was on the trip. But instead of blindly accepting one interview as the truth, people should keep asking questions, reviewing the facts, and waiting for a complete investigation. The bigger point is this: look how quickly people were ready to follow another so-called Black leader without fully knowing his background, his agenda, or whether his coverage is helping Nolan’s family get answers—or creating another distraction.
