Happy to share a moment from our recently completed UES COOP project.

We designed millwork to reinforce adjacencies in the newly opened space, and to evoke fluidity within existing conditions. Now the happy owners have a variety of storage for their cocktail making essentials👌🍸

Thanks to our amazing 👷‍♂️GC @elcontracting and to our dedicated millworker👌@kylemaybuilds for seeing this through.

Neighbors, in conversation.

The cornice at 48 West 8th St was likely stamped from sheet metal in the late 1800s and shipped to the site to make a modest tenement read like carved stone. It has watched over the Village for more than a century.

Next door, 44W8 is taking shape. With our façade, we answer ornament rather than copy it. Deep, textured brickwork catches light and shadow the way old moldings do, in a language of its own time. Hand-pressed Danish brick, made by the same family for over 200 years, softens the dialogue.

Two buildings, two eras, one street wall.

Very proud of our team's work and the beautiful outcome. 🧱✨
Thank you @commercial_observer for the recognition and feature on 44 West Eighth Street.

Designed to bridge the 19th-century tenement beside it and the contemporary building next door, the façade draws on the ornate brickwork of the historic district. It's a quiet nod to the craftsmanship and human scale that once defined this block.
