I’ve been journaling since 4th grade. I hate the word, cathartic, because I remember the first time it was ever used…used as a way to quell the concerns and frustrations I had with a previous colleague by HR. Back from my second sailing with @virginvoyages Voyages and my second time on Resilient Lady.

Virgin has carved out a really unique place in the cruise industry. I absolutely love that it is adults only. The sailors are incredibly diverse and the overall vibe definitely skews younger than my favorite cruise line, Celebrity.

This cruise line is built around energy, entertainment, nightlife, and socializing. If that’s your thing, you’ll probably have a great time.

My very unpopular opinion: I think the food is overrated AF. It’s not bad, but I don’t get excited about it the way the awards imply I should.

What bothered me more than the food itself was the dining system. Having to plan so many meals in advance and hope you can get into the restaurants takes away from the relaxing part of cruising. I don’t want to spend my vacation wondering where I’m going to eat or whether I can get a reservation. It honestly made parts of the trip feel more stressful than they needed to be. Because of that, I ended up eating most of my meals in The Galley. It’s not a traditional buffet, but for all practical purposes, it functions like one.

Will I sail Virgin again? Absolutely. My best friend, @cutmycheck1 loves them!

But Celebrity is still my favorite cruise line. Even after my February 2026 sailing, it remains the cruise line that best matches the kind of vacation I want. Sometimes I want a party. Most of the time, I want to relax. @celebritycruises continues to deliver that experience for me.
