We're working with the supremely talented @iohorton on a feature length documentary about butterfly breeding in Belize and beyond. I recently visited our farm in the wilds of southern Belize to meet the breeders who are custodians of these precious butterfly habitats. This is a story I wish we told many moons ago but in the precarious world we live in, protecting these special places is more important than ever. So...watch this space to see how this particular story unfolds. Let's hope it's got wings 🦋 taken in Belize by @iohorton

Thank you so much to @revistaconcerto for the piece on The Final Bow 🌳🎻

It’s an enormous joy to see this story reach a Brazilian audience. Pau-brasil gives the country its name, it’s endangered, and the decision about its future returns to the CITES table in 2028.

📰 The Final Bow written up today in @the_strad_ , the string world’s magazine of record since 1890. Grateful it’s landed where the people who hold these bows every day will see it.

🎻🌳 Nearly every bow in the world is made from one tree species, from one forest in Brazil. It’s endangered. In 2028 a full trade ban could return to the table.

📰 The Violin Channel has covered the pernambuco fight for years - the petitions, the CoP20 vote, the new rules that came in this March. So it means a lot that they’ve now covered our film about it.

🌳🎻 The Final Bow follows master bow maker Christophe Landon, cellist Coleman Itzkoff, and the Brazilian conservationists, farmers and researchers working to save a tree that every professional bow in the world depends on.

👉 18 minutes. Free to watch - link in bio.

Met a filmmaker at @bigskydocfest in February. Neither of us does what the other does. That's the whole point.
Iona Horton trained as a #geologist. Her debut film is about the wood inside a #cello bow — and the international treaty that almost banned it.
The question: how do you make people care about something they've never thought about?
