2 years. 2 years of belly laughs and hugs. 2 years of exploration and learning. 2 years of love and joy. Luke, you are everything and more than we could have ever asked for. We are so happy watching you grow, but would love to hit pause because this phase has been perfect. We love you more than we could ever put into words and hope you have an incredible day and even better year. Happy birthday, little man. Keep loving big and being you 💙

⛅️ A change in seasons calls for some new family photos!

Being able to work with clients through multiple seasons of life is something that I’ve been so grateful for over the past year and some change of diving into photography (okay, also how has it been a year already?!). There’s just something so special about being able to freeze memories in time as time keeps passing.

I guess the years start coming and they don’t stop coming, as they say.

Anyway, what’s your favorite reason for taking new photos?

⛰️ Sarrail Ridge – The View is Worth the Burn 🔥

Our last Canadian hike of 2024 ended up being one of our all time favorite hikes! If you’re looking for a hike that tests your legs but rewards you with one of the most insane views in Canada, Sarrail Ridge is the one. 🏔️💙

The climb up? Brutal. A steep, relentless grind through the forest, crossing streams, trekking through snow, dodging roots, slipping and sliding while hoping we don’t misstep and start tumbling down the ridge, all while wondering why you signed up for this. But then—you break through the trees, and BOOM. 💥

That turquoise dream of Upper Kananaskis Lake sprawled below, surrounded by rugged peaks. The kind of view that makes every step so worth it. 😍

🔹 Distance: ~10.5km round trip
🔹 Elevation Gain: ~2,460 (your legs will feel it!)
🔹 Highlights: Unreal panoramic views, steep but rewarding ascent, alpine meadows 🌿🏔️

In the end, we were feeling the soreness from this hike (on top of all the ones before it) for days. Hours after the hike, Steph said she felt 46, not 36 lol. Would we do it again? Absolutely. But maybe after our legs forgive us. 😂 Can’t wait for the next Canadian mountain hike!

Grassi Lakes, Emerald Lake, & Marble Canyon: A Day Full of Surprises 🌿💦🏔️

Starting with Grassi Lakes. We thought we were just hiking to one lake… but nature had way more in store for us! Each turn revealed another impossibly clear, stunning yellow, green, and turquoise lake—each one more breathtaking than the last. The colors looked almost unreal—but no filter needed on these! ✨

The trail itself was just as incredible—waterfalls rushed down beneath our feet, and behind us, Rundle Forebay stretched out, reflecting the mountains like a postcard. Every step felt like a dream. And just when we thought we’d seen it all, we looked up and saw a climber scaling a sheer rock face with no ropes. Absolutely insane!

We kept the adventure going with a visit to Emerald Lake, which was beyond beautiful and honestly an amazing alternative to Moraine Lake—same jaw-dropping colors and views but way fewer crowds. Absolutely worth checking out! Then, we explored Marble Canyon, where the roaring rapids and waterfalls made for such a fun and immersive experience. If you’re looking for a great alternative to the always-packed Johnston Canyon, this is it!

If we had known how much we were going to love every stop today, we could have stayed all day. Grassi Lakes, Emerald Lake, and Marble Canyon—you blew us away. 💙

The Onion hike: Banff never disappoints, but this hike/scramble? Next level!! Considered one of the best hikes in Canada to see everything you could hope to see and experience on an incredible mountain hike. 7 hours of pure adventure—waterfalls, glaciers, rivers, forests, and more boulders than we ever wanted to see again. 🥾💪 In total, it was 11.6 miles long, 2,788 ft of elevation gain, and 8,726 ft at the peak per official records.

We first crossed 50-foot deep roaring rapids by climbing over a 10 foot boulder (because apparently, that was the only way). Then got our feet wet crossing over more rapids later on. Hiked past Bow Hut (a resting spot nestled halfway up a mountain, 4-5 hours from the nearest road, seemingly placed in the middle of nowhere for skiers and hikers to stay at), a stop on the legendary Wapta Icefield ski traverse, then actually traversed a glacier—with the biggest glacier in Canada surrounding us. ❄️🏔️

We trekked up and ran down a very steep slope covered in over 10 feet of snow, passed and climbed over a large waterfall, and took in so many different mountains, lakes, and rivers along the way. We also had some wild encounters—marmots, crazy big black spiders, and the constant awareness that we were deep in grizzly and avalanche country.

Oh, and let’s not forget Ross’s twisted ankle, trail running, and a fall or three. 😂 But in the end?

It was miserable and magical ooohhh yeahhh. But seriously, it was. We had the chance to celebrate this sweet soul’s very first birthday yesterday. He woke up to balloons, got to have a taste of his first donut, tried to blow out a candle in his ice cream, and best of all watched trains come and go up close! It has truly been a year of adventure and growth for all of us and definitely something worth commemorating. We love you so much, little one! 🎂1️⃣ by @ionemusic
