Introducing ROTATIONS 🔄🌍🧳💫

We’ve been fortune to visit many places and expression ourselves through this medium. But it’s always been important to us to acknowledge what we’ve discovered and who we’ve met a long the way.

ROTATIONS can be described as…

“The bars with fogged up windows and records piled behind the booth. The places where strangers become familiar by the end of the night. The corner spots, back patios, and dance floors where music sat in the air warm like food passed around a family table.”

To set the tone, we would like to share a proper recap of last years PEN PAL PROGRAM™️. Special thank you to all venues, bars, selectors and friends that shaped these memories with us.

🔗 in bio for a deeper dig of this list and if you ever find yourself there, send them our regards. So much more to come 🥂 taken in Global by @iosnua

Our friend and key figure of Connecticut’s music scene, Leon McIntosh (@mr.mcintoshhifi) is in need of support and so we’re asking our community to pitch in. 🔗 in bio.

Leon is someone who shows up. In countless instances he’s showed up for us, DJ friends, venues and organizers, not just in CT but across the Northeast, while asking for very little or often nothing in return.

For anyone who’s had the privilege of experiencing the sound system he designed and built, you immediately understand that the opportunity to bring people together is really what this whole thing is all about.

We the community are coming together to raise funds so we can lessen the burden for Leon during an unfathomable life changing injury.

A benefit party will be thrown on @prattstreethartford for him with a secondary goal to play music as it’s intended to be heard. We kindly ask you to contribute what you can and please spread the word!

Leon McIntosh has been building hi-fi sound systems by hand out of Hartford for years.

We knew we had to sit down with him. When we finally linked up, we talked about sound as a craft, the Black musical lineage that shapes his approach, and what it actually means to build something with soul.

The kind of conversation worth sitting with.
full interview is up on substack now — link in bio. @mr.mcintoshhifi

If you want to hear how Leon’s sound system sounds in person, it will be running at @pavedunder this weekend. April 25th come through ✨
