On the occasion of the World Day for Glaciers by the @unitednations , I’ve decided to release a very special piece, composed and recorded during the documentary Ici Commence l’Océan, at the Grand Méan Glacier, with my friend @chasseurdesons

“From Floe to Flow” is an ambient piece that blends sonification and field recording. Data related to the rise of atmospheric CO₂ concentrations since the early 19th century are translated into MIDI notes using the @loudnumbers script on my Monome Norns. These MIDI notes generate bass, lead, and modulate synth samples, processed through my @makenoisemusic Morphagene via a series of MIDI effects controlled by my @squarpinstruments Hermod+.

In contrast, the sounds of the glacier were captured using a hydrophone by @ambientrecording , directly patched into my modular system. They were then shaped with an @ericasynths analog multiband filter, and immersed in ambient reverb to create an ethereal texture.

I found it meaningful to confront, within the same piece, one of the primary drivers of accelerated climate change, the rise of CO₂, with the very sounds of a glacier melting under its effects.

While these sounds are breathtakingly beautiful, their meaning is deeply unsettling.

This tension is what led me to name the piece “From Floe to Flow.”

Stratum

I had the pleasure to collaborate on this stunning visual project, « Stratum », made by Eric Hanson, with my track « Into the Void ».
Designed for Fulldome, VR, Imax, and CineChamber, this 6-minute, 360 stereoscopic short is an abstract visual journey utilizing digital scans of a myriad of remote and esoteric locations, examining human perception of non-euclidlian topologies present in ancient layered geologies.

Got to experience it on the Apple Vision Pro and honestly… one of the most futuristic things I’ve ever experienced 😱

The film has picked up 2 awards so far, Innovation Icon at DomeFestWest and Best Short Dome Film at PFCAT (Portland Festival of Cinema, Tech, and Animation). by @iot.records

Thank you to everyone that came out to see us play live since The Illusion of Being dropped. Thank you to the venues that hosted us, to the technicians and stage crews. To the bands we opened for and all the acts that warmed up the stage for us. Thank you to our team and to all those who couldn’t make the shows but supported us with their energy. Thank you for buying, sharing and talking about this album 🤍

We have two more shows left before we go into our hibernation season. Hoping to see you next year in more shows and with more music.

Very happy to announce the pre order for the album "sometimes I have many thoughts"

It was initially the prequel to the last album, but I decided to add more tracks to make a new full project

It s going to be a 2xLP 45rpm, you get the choice of classic or color edition. Love the color one !!

Première année à sillonner les free party en Rhône alpes. Premières platines vinyles et la lente (mais sure) évolution vers la musique électronique comme territoire sonore, remplaçant petit à petit le rock alternatif … Les 7, 8 et 9 juillet 1995 retour à Belfort…mais sans tickets d’entrée du festival…on recroise les mêmes sauf que bien sur l’année passée à laisser des traces…et on à nos bacs à disques avec nous…Premiers Mix sur un sound system. by @iot.records

« To New Grounds is a burst of pure energy, drawing its inspiration from momentum — the force that pushes us to discover new territories. It carries tones deeply inspired by Amon Tobin, and hints at a new phase to come for CCTemple. » _ CCTemple

The visual is signed by Ziggy Lou, CCTemple’s sister. It’s a photo of a water surface with foam floating on it. The image was altered to make it look like an unknown territory seen from the sky. CCTemple then brought in Dimitri Thouzery, who turned this landscape into a 3D model so you can move through it in time with the sound.

FUCK AI ! 🤖🖕

Okay, that’s a bit much — but we needed to get your attention.
Honestly though, we mean it. We’re not exactly hyped about the potential benefits of AI in art.
We know there can be some value from a creative standpoint. It’s just that, right now, it doesn’t interest us.
Like, not at all.

We believe there are still infinite unexplored territories in what the human mind is capable of imagining.
It’s precisely the artistic material that emerges from the winding corridors of our artists’ minds that we want to explore and share with you.
That’s why, we decided to put an AI charter in place.

This charter applies to us, to the label’s artists, and to the artists we collaborate with.
In short: we allow ourselves 0% AI usage when it comes to creative elements.
The music, of course. The visuals too. And the texts that go with.
Going forward, we therefore refuse to release music that has made use of generative AI*. The same goes for all visuals (artworks, music videos, photos…)
*By generative AI, we mean using software to create or modify artistic material from a prompt.

We’ve recently used it for certain projects, particularly for visuals. It’s precisely those experiences that made us realize we didn’t want to go there again.
What immediately felt obvious to us when it came to music has since become equally obvious for visual and written creation.
Whether we’re talking about music, graphic design, video, or writing — we’d rather champion art made by « craftspeople » than by machines.

We want to make it clear that we pass no judgment on artists who want to use AI to its full potential.
We’re actually curious and paying close attention to what’s happening out there. We’ve already seen and heard things that blew us away artistically!
But once again, it’s simply not the path we want to take in the years ahead. And it’s also a way to guarantee a place for artists who are on board with the 0% AI approach.

Because 0% AI above all means 100% ARTISANAL INTELLIGENCE!
Which is, when you think about it, how we’ve always done things — in everything we’ve done. With its share of flaws, sweat, and mistakes.
