I am incredibly happy and honored to have been selected for a solo exhibition as part of the @thessaloniki_photobiennale 2023, showcasing my project titled 'Losing Turquoise' opening on 16/10, 18:00 at @goetheinstitut_thess . I would like to extend my gratitude to all of my wonderful collaborators, friends, and family for their unwavering support throughout the journey of creating this project. Είμαι απίστευτα χαρούμενη και νιώθω τεράστια τιμή που η εργασία μου με τίτλο 'Χάνοντας το Τυρκουάζ' επιλέχθηκε για μια ατομική έκθεση ως μέρος της @thessaloniki_photobiennale 2023, που εγκαινιάζεται στις 16/10, ώρα: 18:00 στο @goetheinstitut_thess . Finissage today at House of Lucie - Athens for the group exhibition titled “Her Return” with works draw inspiration from Homer’s The Odyssey In this post Ioustini Drakoulakou’s work @iou_d THE 24 FRAGMENTED RHAPSODIES   Το έργο «Οι 24 κατακερματισμένες ραψωδίες», εμπνευσμένο από τον μύθο της Πηνελόπης, εξερευνά την έννοια της αναμονής μέσα από μια προσωπική οπτική. Εστιάζοντας στις τεκτονικές διεργασίες του Γεωπάρκου Κεφαλονιάς–Ιθάκης, συνδέεται μεταφορικά με τη διαρκή γεωλογική μεταμόρφωση. Η δομή του, βασισμένη στις 24 ραψωδίες της Οδύσσειας, αξιοποιεί διακοπές και μαύρες λωρίδες —σαν τεκτονικά ρήγματα— για να συμβολίσει τα θραύσματα του χρόνου και τη συνεχή ροή. Δημιουργημένο στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος φιλοξενίας Return 2 Ithaca, το έργο μου αναδεικνύει τη σχέση ανάμεσα στον χρόνο, την αλλαγή και την αναμονή.   Inspired by the myth of Penelope, this work explores the notion of waiting from a personal perspective. Focusing on the tectonic processes of the Kefalonia–Ithaca Geopark, it metaphorically aligns with inevitable geological transformation. Structured after the 24 rhapsodies of The Odyssey, it employs interruptions and black bands—resembling tectonic fractures—to symbolize the fragmentation of time and the continuity of flow.
