Lately, life has been reminding me how beautiful a new beginning can be.
Swinging in the hammock on the most perfect day while holding Tatum, in the sunshine, I felt so much joy in the simplest things: his tiny hands, his peaceful face, the way the world seems to slow down around him. He has no idea how much love surrounds him yet.
There’s something humbling about holding a life so new and innocent. It makes me want to pause, be present, and appreciate this moment exactly as it is. 🤍 #gumby #justwhateeneeded #grandsongratitude by @ipassoutsmiles

Over the last few years I must have said, “ I’m so glad God blessed me with my babies at a young age because there is no way I could have done it later in life.”

A few nights ago I slept over Jordyn and Pats to help with the baby so the two of them could get some sleep. 💤
Not to brag but, it was so easy. Tate and I are pretty much on the same schedule. I wake up to hot flashes and he wakes up hungry at the SAME time! I have to pee and he poops himself, at the same time ! It’s like I’m meant for the late night Gammy duty!

The moral of this post is, if you’re gonna have a baby, and you’re lucky enough to have a mom who lives nearby, make sure she is perimenopausal before you conceive so she can take the night shifts. You’re welcome in advance ☺️ #gumby #grandson #gammy by @ipassoutsmiles

Dementia SUCKS!

It’s hard to not let it bring you down on the daily when you are a caregiver.
Luckily, my mom keeps us laughing but more importantly we do our best to keep her laughing. I think laughter is so important to help cope with the reality that she is slipping away but also to remind all of us that life is still what you make of it.

I think I’m going start sharing some of the happy moments that make us laugh and bring us joy so I can focus on those and not the reality. Plus , you might get a good laugh out of it too and I know she would love that. She loves making little jokes and cracking us up.

So, on todays episode of, “ what will Didi say next?”

Last night Didi told Kenny and me she wants a baby and she’s just waiting for the perfect man to come along 🤣
