Had the pleasure of visiting the Joshua Tree Retreat Center (aka Institute of Mentalphysics) in April to see a very special @queensofthestoneage performance. This is where Desert Daze was once held, though by the time I attended they had moved to Lake Perris. Before the show we were able to roam around @joshuatreeretreatcenter and marvel at these really neat art installations. Total @desertdaze_official vibes! Also reminded me of the @goldwellmuseum near Death Valley National Park. Very otherworldly 👽 🛸 taken in Joshua Tree Retreat Center by @ipodsandfestivals

My first desktop post! 🤓 The Strokes dropped a new album today, Reality Awaits - their seventh, and first since The New Abnormal in 2020. (Damn, six years already? Time isn't real y'all.) After one listen I can say I really enjoyed it, but with the amount of music I consume I'm not sure I'll revisit this until the end of the year.

Even though it seems like everyone's "going country" lately, I really like this artwork. Maybe because it recalls some old movies I've watched recently. It also feels decidedly un-Strokes. I didn't start following the band closely until their fourth album (Angles from 2009) - and I really didn't "get" them at first. Too deep in my hardcore/emo/punk journey at the time, I guess. Anyway, who else has checked this out? Any thoughts?
