I haven't been able to stop thinking about the images and videos that have been circulating since yesterday.I watched them in disbelief. I watched them in anger.This is my way of channeling that... My protest. My refusal to look away.Students asking questions. Folded hands. Broken trust. Shaken dreams.Whatever your political beliefs are, ask yourself this..1) Are these images the answer to questions they were asking?2) Is this the kind of system we want to become?3) When asking those in power for accountability is met with fear instead of dialogue?We all lose.I stand with those calling for accountability. Title: Madan MahalMedium: Ink on Handmade PaperDimensions: 8 × 12 inches (approx.)I have always been fascinated by old architecture, temples, first etc.This is Madan Mahal Fort in Jabalpur, and one thing that amazed me is that it looks like it's standing on a single giant rock. Imagine building something like this centuries ago, without the machines we have today.One of the Marvel balanced on a single rock. This is built by the Gond rulers over 500 years ago. @mptourism @jabalpurdieriesWhile drawing this, I kept thinking about all the places i have been to and how many people have actually walked through these same gates, what stories these walls have seen, and how this fort is still standing today.The tiny stairs are my favourite part.Every line made me appreciate the people who built this masterpiece even more.Have you ever visited, jabalpur or Madan Mahal? Title: Sanchi StupaMedium: Ink on handmade paperStyle: Contemporary Fine ArtDimensions: 4 × 6 inches approx.This is an older piece that I created quite a while ago but never got around to posting.I visited Sanchi Stupa as a kid, ages ago, during a trip to Bhopal. Even then, I remember being amazed by it.At one point, I wanted to create a small series of architectural sketches from Madhya Pradesh for @mptourism. That's when I realised just how difficult architecture is to draw. Hats off to the artists who create such incredible architectural pieces.I held onto this drawing for a while because I wanted to keep it with me just a little longer.Now it's your turn to see it. Title: King of PopMedium: Ink on handmade paperDimensions: 8 × 12 inches (approx.)Some portraits are fun to draw, and this one was pure joy.Like many others, I caught up between his music and the endless controversies surrounding him. Looking back now, I can't help but feel he was one of the most misunderstood souls of our time.The more I listen to his music and watch his interviews, the more I see a gentle, kind-hearted person with a childlike honesty. The most enjoyable part of this piece was drawing the hair and all the tiny beads on the jacket. A few days ago, I asked for portrait suggestions and received so many wonderful ideas.So far I've attempted Bob Dylan and Michael Gambon, and now, thanks to your suggestions, I'm working on Michael Jackson.Honestly, I'm in such a good groove right now.
