I’m just over 1 year free from alcohol.

Stopping drinking is the best decision I have ever made. It has been unfathomably beneficial on me, my family, my friends, and my entire life.

It’s been the best year of my life, and it’s only getting better.

Life Update:

I’m 4 months sober from alcohol!

Life has been a rollercoaster the last few years and I wasn’t strapped in. I was mistreating everyone I love and abusing every opportunity and chance I was given. I was being a shadowy version of myself, and then blaming other people for not understanding the confusing person I had been presenting. I was paranoid and angry at people for no reason and would drink to forget everything.

I now realize that I was running from trauma and procrastinating looking in the mirror and facing myself.

I am now clear-minded with a full heart, and losing isn’t an option. I’m in love with myself again and have faced my demons and escaped with the holy grail. Happiness.

My girlfriend Jasmyn has been right by my side from the start and I appreciate her and love her so much. I went to Vegas for the first time. I went to California for the first time and Lightning In A Bottle was perfect. I wish my brother was here, the love at that festival would have saved his life. Before he passed he said he had a new “zest” for life. I finally understand what he meant.

I have been meditating daily. I have been going on a 5 mile bike ride at least every other day. I have gotten back into skateboarding and skate at least once a week. I play basketball twice a week. I am on a softball team and play on Wednesdays. I started a new job as a Solar salesman selling residential systems. I have changed my life around in the last 4 months and I am so proud to say that I have.

Shoutout to all my people that have stood by me through this long awaited epiphany. I love you so much and would love nothing more than reconnecting with everyone the old me drifted from.

I’m lucky & I’m blessed to be alive today to say that I’m alcohol-free and never looking back.
