UPDATE: She was adopted 🥹
Myla ❤️
Me and Sammy went to @detroitanimalcareandcontrol to walk a shelter dogs. We ended up meeting Detroit’s very own tiger pup. This little girl exploded our hearts wide open and we decided to have a sleepover! Not being ready to adopt a puppy, we had to say goodbye 4 days later. Myla really is the perfect dog.

Photo dump of our early adventures (2015) to bringing Diesel to our new home, with a baby in my belly (2021). Reluctantly relearning what life looks like has been difficult this last week. I still think I hear him throughout the house. The scratches on the paint, dirt on the curtains, and fur in the carpet fill me with painful nostalgia. I still anticipate him to greet me when I walk through the door. Turbulent waves of “everything’s fine” and “I’d do anything to have him back”. Reciting our mantra of “we were so lucky to have known the best dog in the world” through smiles and through tears ❤️ by @irb___barr

Happy birthday to the #1 good boy, Diesel ❤️ He is everyone’s best friend (except for the groundhogs in the backyard 🪦) 10 years has flown by with this pup in our family. Diesel was the first to teach me that I am capable of taking care of someone other than myself. He’s taught my kids empathy and patience.

Diesel was diagnosed with cancer 2 months ago and we were told we had weeks left. Our most recent check up was as good as it could’ve been and we will be spending what time we have left smothering him with all the love. 🥂 Here’s to Diesel, may his days be filled with slobbery kisses all over Sammy’s face, getting WAY too many treats from Cal, conning Brad into long, late night walks after his run, and cozy couch snuggles with me 😊 Happy 12th birthday Deasy Dee! by @irb___barr
