October Walk 🎃

There won’t be an official Ireland Analog photowalk this October, but plenty of us are planning to head along to the @corkfilmfriends Spooky Shoot later this month 👻

If you’re looking for an excuse to load a roll of HP5, Tri-X or your favourite spooky-stock, it looks like a great day out with portraits, costumes, atmospheric locations and fellow film photographers. Give @corkfilmfriends a follow for the details! It’s the 18th of October 💫

And while we’re talking dates...

📅 Save the Date - 21 November

Our annual Ireland Analog Print Exchange will return to Chaplins, Dublin, on Saturday, the 21st of November.

One of our favourite events of the year: prints on tables, cameras in hands, good conversation, and a chance to swap photographs with fellow members of the community.

More details on participation, print numbers and timings coming soon ✨

See you in Cork, see you in November, and keep shooting film. taken in Cork, Ireland by @irelandanalog

Ireland Analog Presents: "The Long Walk 2: The Second Trial" 🥾 ⛰️

Though we had to change plans for our previous walk due to airline shenanigans, there was much demand to do this on another date, so let's have at it! This will be a bit more "walk" than normal, so dress appropriately and bring water/snacks! We will of course stop for a break partway through 🥪

🗓️ Date: Saturday 26/September
⏰ Start time: 13:00
📍 Route: Sutton Dart Station → Red Rock → The Summit Inn (for dinner 😋)
🥾 Distance: 10km (give or take)
🎞 Theme: Endurance under quiet, mounting pressure (kidding!)

Step forward. Keep pace. Make images. Full route details in the comment below!

Hi everyone 👋

We’ve had lots of requests to arrange a meetup at People’s Photography this weekend.

If you’d like to join us, we’ll meet at the Ireland Analog banner at 12 noon on Saturday. We’ll take a mandatory group photo, then everyone is encouraged to head off and explore the full exhibition.

There should be plenty of opportunity for chats, and if a group fancies heading off together afterwards for a short walk and a coffee, that would be great too ☕️

Beyond the meeting point and time, we have no fixed plans — just come along, say hello, and enjoy the weekend🕺

People’s Photography runs on both Saturday and Sunday, but this meetup is for Saturday.

See you there tomorrow! taken in Saint Stephens Green Park by @irelandanalog

Ireland Analog Presents: The Long Walk ft. a special guest 👀

There are photowalks… and then there are journeys. On this occasion, we invite you to take part in something far greater than casually exposing a roll of Portra. This is a test of will. Of stamina. Of your ability to carry unnecessarily heavy camera gear over uneven coastal terrain while pretending it’s “part of the experience”!

🗓️ Date: Saturday 08/August
⏰ Start time: 10:30
📍 Route: Sutton Dart Station → Red Rock → The Summit Inn
🥾 Distance: 10km (give or take)
🎞 Theme: Endurance under quiet, mounting pressure (kidding!)

We will be joined by a very special guest on this photo walk: our founder, Marc @marcargentique , who is visiting from Canada! Anybody who isn’t interested in the hike but wishes to catch up with him is of course welcome to meet us in the pub in the afternoon 🫶🍕

Step forward. Keep pace. Make images. Full route details in the comment below!

July Photowalk 🦢

Our next wander is on the south side – we’re heading along the Dodder to the little waterfall in Dartry Park, with plenty of stops for photos, chats and coffee along the way 📸

📆 Date: 4th July at 11:00am (leaving around 11:10)
📍Meeting Point: Milltown Luas Stop (Green Line) by main entrance to the platform, beside the tickets machines

If you’re running a few minutes late, follow the Dodder towards Dartry Park – we’ll be moving slowly and should be easy to spot 🤪

Route:
🚃 Milltown Luas → along the river paths → Dartry Park waterfall
🌿 Mostly flat with some uneven paths and the odd slope; usual Dublin mix of grass, gravel and tarmac
🌳 Expect trees, bridges, water, and a mix of quiet corners and passing walkers

What to bring:
📷 Any film camera you like – 35mm, medium format, point and shoot, whatever you enjoy using
🎞️ A couple of rolls and spare batteries if you need them
👟 Comfortable shoes and weather‑appropriate layers
🔎 Optional: tripod or ND filters if you fancy dragging the shutter at the waterfall

Vibe / expectations:
🫂 Open, friendly film walk – all experience levels welcome
🫰 No formal workshop or schedule, just a group wandering, chatting and making pictures
👫 Feel free to drift between small groups, or wander off for a bit and rejoin later
☕️ You’re never obliged to stay for the full walk or any post‑walk drink

Accessibility & pace:
☁️ Gentle pace – this is more stroll than hike
☔️ There are some narrow paths and potential muddy spots if it’s been raining

Afterwards:
🥐 We’ll aim to finish with coffee (or something stronger) near wherever we end up at the end of the walk
💃 No pressure to stay if you need to head off

Sharing:
🔗 If you post from the day, tag @irelandanalog and use your usual IA tags so others can find your photos

As always: be sound to each other, be respectful of anyone we photograph around the park, and look after your own gear.

See you at Milltown on the 4th 🫶🏼

June meet-up ⬆️🤝

For the month of June, instead of a photo walk we’re going to focus on immersing ourselves in the Irish art community and meeting both new and established artists alike 🧑‍🎨 Our own local legend Laura Nadal @dmifyouphotograph will be exhibiting her final year project work alongside her classmates in @griffithcollege and we hope you’ll tag along and help us support these incredible artists - and maybe find some inspiration for your own work! 🎭📸

🗓️Date: Thursday, June 4th at 18:00 PM
📍Location: The Auditorium (Griffith College)
🎞️Theme: Inspiration!

There will be at least one book launch on the night, so bring cash💰👀

Of course we encourage people to group up and go shooting afterwards if they feel inspired and their brains are full of ideas! 🧠📝 by @irelandanalog

March Photowalk 📸

We’re back for another photowalk — and this one’s going big 😏

🗓 Date: Saturday, March 28th at 12pm
📍 Meeting Point: St. Anne’s Park Tennis Courts, Dublin
🎞 Theme: “Having It Large” — a celebration of large format photography

Whether you’re lugging around a 4×5, rocking a 8×10, or just curious to see these beasts in action, you’re more than welcome to join. No large format camera? No problem — come along for a slower-paced wander through the park, meet fellow film enthusiasts, and see what “large” really looks like 🪨

Expect plenty of time to chat, compose, and focus (literally). It’s less about how fast you shoot — and more about enjoying the deliberate craft of it all.

Bring your cameras, your curiosity, and that tripod that’s been gathering dust 🎞 See you on the 28th!

May Photowalk ⚡️

We are excited to announce details of our May photowalk in collaboration with @photomuseumirl as part of the @dsp_festival 2026 🥳

"Capturing the Clichés" will be a guided analogue photo walk inviting you to embrace and rediscover the cliché aspect of street photography with a new perspective - that of the more deliberate and measured style which film photography encourages 🎞️

The walk will start at Photo Museum Ireland in Temple Bar at 10am on Saturday, 02 May 2026, and your hosts @shaka1277 @dmifyouphotograph and @thatdarkroomlife will guide you through some of Dublin’s most visually lively streets and arrived at Charlemont Square to continue exploring the DSPF by 12pm 📸

*Please note that there is a fee of €5 to register for this event, and the walk is capped at 40 participants.*

For full details, and to register, visit @photomuseumirl website. The link is also in our bio 🔗

And if you feel like you want to do more, @thatdarkroomlife will be hosting the following weekend an in-person workshop on black and white film development at Photo Museum Ireland! More information on the website 😉

See you there!
