📚Join us on Monday, November 9 at the McIntosh Center for an evening with Northern Irish writers Lucy Caldwell, author of the award-winning short story collection Devotions, and Jan Carson, author of the novel Few and Far Between.

Hosted in partnership with the LMU Irish Studies and Department of English, the evening will begin with a reception, followed by a conversation exploring contemporary Northern Irish literature, storytelling, and identity.

📣 Calling all GAA clubs in the US Southwest! The Global Games Development Fund is now open for applications for 2027.

The Global Games Development Fund supports opportunities for the Irish diaspora and other communities abroad to participate in Gaelic games. Since 2013, the Fund has supported more than 1,200 projects, helping more than 500 clubs across 100+ cities worldwide to establish and grow Gaelic Games.

The closing date for applications is 13 November 2026 at 5pm (Irish time).

The Consulate General of Ireland is proud to partner with award-winning Irish journalist and bestselling author Sally Hayden for a conversation on her new book, This Is Also a Love Story: A Reporter’s Search for Goodness in a Cruel World, at @booksoup. Drawing on stories gathered through years of reporting on humanitarian issues, the book explores love, resilience, and human connection across the globe.

We were proud to join the 3rd Annual Global Solidarity Run again from Los Angeles this year! We chose a new route for this year’s event, which took place at the beautiful Hollywood Reservoir.

Our group of walkers in LA joined with people in over 100 countries worldwide to show solidarity with people displaced and living in extreme poverty around the world.

This initiative by @sanctuaryrunners, reflects Ireland’s values and longstanding commitment to international development and humanitarian aid, as we stand together with those who are often left furthest behind.

The Consul General, Caitlín Higgins Ní Chinnéide, was thrilled to host Olympians @kateoconnor2 and @rhasidat_adeleke at the Residence. Calling all Irish organisations in the US Southwest!☘️

The Emigrant Support Programme (ESP) 2027-2028 will open for applications on Wednesday 9 December 2026 and will remain open until Thursday 14 January 2027.

The ESP is a key part of the Irish Government’s Diaspora Strategy and is a tangible expression of Ireland’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening links with the Irish diaspora around the world.

You can find full information about the ESP, the categories for funding and the relevant criteria at the link in our bio. You can also read about previous ESP recipients and find some useful tips on submitting your application.

The Consulate was proud to support the recent trade mission from Arizona to Ireland, led by the Arizona Commerce Authority.

The delegation included senior representatives from the Arizona state government, business and academia, including members of the Arizona-Ireland Trade Commission, established in October 2025.

During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to engage with Irish state agencies and partners in key sectors such as higher education, research and technology, to explore opportunities to grow the strong economic ties between Arizona and Ireland. There was strong political engagement including a meeting with Ceann Comhairle Verona Murphy, following her own successful visit to Phoenix in March this year, and Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann, Mark Daly.

This visit highlighted the strong potential in the Arizona-Ireland relationship, with many mutually-beneficial opportunities to develop links in trade, research, technology and innovation. We look forward to building on these positive engagements with Arizona over the period ahead.

On Tuesday, Vice Consul General Dominic Berkeley was pleased to convene the resident EU Consuls General in Los Angeles for a special roundtable discussion with Dee Dee Myers, Senior Advisor to Governor Gavin Newsom and Director of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz).

This was a valuable opportunity to hear about California’s economic development strategy, the state’s key priorities for business and investment, and GO-Biz’s extensive international engagement.

Given Director Myers’ wealth of experience and expertise developed during her career to date across politics, public service, business and entertainment, we appreciated her perspectives and insights on the wider political and economic landscape in the United States.
