At Climate Week NYC, the third edition of Masdar’s Next Watt dialogue series brought together senior leaders from energy, technology, infrastructure and investment to discuss how to accelerate the deployment of reliable, affordable clean power.

Co-hosted with IRENA and ADSW, the session examined how renewable generation, grid capacity and storage can be deployed more quickly to meet rising global demand, driven by increasingly electrified economies and the rapid expansion of AI.

While renewables are gaining ground towards the 2030 global goal, energy efficiency and infrastructure are falling behind, and global power demand is rising faster than expected. Action is needed to:

• Modernise and expand grids
• Deploy efficient electric technologies
• Boost 24/7 renewables and storage
• Harness digitalisation and #AI

New IRENA report highlights progress, shortfalls and opportunities alongside persistent bottlenecks in investment, grids and #electrification and makes policy recommendations in the run-up to #cop31 by @irenaimages
