Ciao, sono appena partita da Trieste per percorrere quasi 3.000 km in bici fino alla Spagna nord-occidentale. 🚲 Quando pianifichi un viaggio così, l’acqua diventa fondamentale: quanta ne raccolgo? Dove la trovo? Sarà potabile? Per me è solo un problema logistico che si risolve facilmente, in un modo o nell’altro, sempre. Per oltre 2 milioni di persone a Gaza non è così. Ho scelto di usare questo viaggio per parlare di qualcosa di importante, ovvero l’acqua come diritto universale, non come privilegio. E anche di chi sta lavorando concretamente per garantirlo, anche là dove tutto è stato distrutto. @unponteper , associazione nata nel 1991, porta avanti dal 2024 la campagna “Acqua per Gaza”: acqua potabile, kit igienici, pozzi riabilitati. Ogni contributo si trasforma in aiuto immediato attraverso il loro partner palestinese, la Union of Agricoltural Work Committes (UAWC) nata per sostenere i diritti di contadinə palestinesə e difendere le loro terre da confische, occupazioni, sfruttamento da parte di Israele. Finora la campagna Acqua per Gaza ha raggiunto e aiutato oltre 50.000 persone, ma l’emergenza non è finita. After last year’s success, we are inviting again our beloved Roller Skater @irenedoes_ to spend a great day teaching us new skills! For those who don’t know, Irene is the founder of @covenrollerskate shop based in Trieste, Italy. She has done many workshops all around EU. Her way of teaching is exceptional and very funny for all levels. So what's up? Saturday 12.09.2026 09:30 Meet up at Skulture Skate Shop 10:00-12:00 Workshop Park, Volksgarten Skate Park* - warm up and workshop street park skills 12:00-13:00 Lunch Break - Bring your own food and drinks :) 14:00-16:00 Workshop Mini Ramp, at Ortwein Mini-ramp - Pumping, drop-in, and learning some dope stalls 16:30 Tricks for Goodies Sesh! - Put into practice what you have learned, share some of your tricks with the group <3 Workshop ​limited to 10 Participants; you must be able to skate, turn, and stop safely​/ comfortably. ​The whole workshop costs 30 Euros per person - this money will cover travel and stay ​expenses, so tickets are exchangeable but NOT refundable. From Trieste to Finisterre: days 1-5 ✨ What a ride! Day one’s goal was to exit Friuli Venezia Giulia and enter the Veneto region (check! ✅). Day 2 and 3 where all about Pianura Padana and its “psico-drittoni” (psychologically challenging infinite flat router). Day 4 was a stretch (in terms of kilometers) but worth it because I got to know Stefano’s family! Day 5 was about feeling at home in a foreign place: @_skatefarm_ (Thank you folks 🫂). When I first opened this account, more than 10 years ago, it became a roller derby diary, then a rollerskating diary. A place where I shared my journey, my tricks, the workshops, the events… rollerskating has always been the center of it all. A platform of curated content, reflecting just one aspect of my life and one aspect only, ultimately becoming a portrait of just a slice of my being. In the past months I started to feel disconnected from “Doom”, almost like it had become a character. A separate entity that only exists when I strap rollerskates under my feet. But my life is made of many other things. I work as a project manager and brand specialist, with different brands and other professionals. I’m a counseling student — this year I started a 3-year master’s degree in Milan. I own and run a rollerskating online shop, Coven. I was a graphic designer before taking a turn in my career, after many years in a communication agency. I still enjoy drawing and making art — I’ve been drawing since I was a kid and almost never stopped. I’m an avid reader and my house is covered in books. I enjoy silence, nature and long walks. I try to move my body every day — not just by skating. I enjoy bike rides, inline skating on bike trails, and yoga. I meditate almost every day and I consider it as necessary as eating or sleeping. Most of my days look like this: me in front of my laptop, writing editorial plans, talking with colleagues, planning events. Rollerskating is just something that happens in between other things, and pretending it’s my whole life has become as heavy as a lie. I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time now, and even if it’s just an Instagram name, letting go of “Doom Skates” is a big step for me, and for everything that this name represented. So… hello!
