🕊Happy 100th Grandma🕊

Margaret Mabbort, née Birkett, would have been 100 today. She had a life harder than it should have been, and it ended earlier than it should have, but she was glamorous and, my goodness, did she have opinions!

Mum and I spent two days in London celebrating her by doing things she would have loved - Theatre Picasso at the Tate, Afternoon Tea at Fortnum's, going to the pictures (we saw Hamnet and yes, I sobbed), and brunch at Selfridges where she once worked, followed by drinks at a pub that was meant to be a museum trip but, well. When you're with family....

P.s. shout out to the cab driver we had today whose first granddaughter was born 30 minutes before he picked us up from our hotel, on grandma's actual birthday. Here's to you, Betsy Rose - may you have a wonderful life. by @irenepinner
