There’s no personal income tax, nor wealth, capital gains or local housing taxes. There’s no inheritance tax for heirs making it a hub for family offices and global entrepreneurs🪎

In 1956 “the wedding of the century” took place here as American actress Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier III of Monaco (their images in prominent display in Monte Carlo -3rd frame)

This museum was the first in the world to successfully keep and breed living coral in captivity. Jacques Cousteau was its director for more than 3 decades. It’s built into the side of a cliff 279 feet above the Mediterranean Sea. It is completely covered in stone carvings of marine life🐙

The narrow winding alleys of Eze were intentionally designed to confuse attackers in the Middle Ages. French king Louis XIV ordered the town’s defensive wall and castle torn down in 1706 during the war of the Spanish Succession so it could no longer serve as a military threat🏰

Known as “the Eagle’s Nest” Eze was built high on a steep hill for defense. A rugged hiking path connects the village to the coastal area, named after German philosopher Nietzsche who walked it daily✴️

Between Nice and Monaco, we stopped at the medieval village of Eze to tour the Fragonard perfume lab factory. Inaugurated in 1968, they use techniques for extracting essential oils known since ancient times, such as the cold enfleurage developed for fragile flowers such as jasmine. It involves spreading a layer of odorless grease on the walls of a glass frame which is then covered with flowers (shown in my fourth photo)💮

Located at the foot of the French Alps, Nice’s clear air and soft light have appealed to notable painters like Chagall and Matisse. Because of its historical importance as a winter resort town for European aristocracy and the resulting mix of cultures, it was proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage sight in 2021🌴

Nice, France was founded by ancient Greeks around 350 BC and named Nikaia after Nike, the goddess of victory. As soon as we landed in Nice, we went to the Parc de la Colline du Chateau for the views⛲️

This charming town, on steep terraced slopes overlooking the Rhône River, is known for producing some of France’s most prestigious Syrah wines. Developed as early as the Gallo-Roman period, winemaking here dates back over 2,000 years. Today small family estates of passionate winemakers continue traditional viticulture on these challenging slopes🍷✨
