2025, you were one of my favourites.

I spent so much intentional time in nature, with people I love, and in solitude. I revisited places I hold close to my heart and explored new landscapes. I cried so many tears of awe. I moved into my dream flat by myself. I learned new skills and created a lot of imperfect art that I’m really proud of. I was showered with so much love and kindness that my inner voice finally began to soften.

With a heart both full and broken, a new path awaits 🌿✨ by @ireneyap

“I asked the leaf whether it was frightened because it was autumn and the other leaves were falling. The leaf told me, ‘No. During the whole spring and summer I was completely alive. I worked hard to help nourish the tree, and now much of me is in the tree. I am not limited by this form. I am also the whole tree, and when I go back to the soil, I will continue to nourish the tree. So I don’t worry at all. As I leave this branch and float to the ground, I will wave to the tree and tell her, ‘I will see you again very soon.’ … That day, there was a wind blowing and, after a while, I saw the leaf leave the branch and float down to the soil, dancing joyfully, because as it floated it saw itself already there in the tree. It was so happy. I bowed my head, knowing that I have a lot to learn from the leaf because it is not afraid - it knew nothing can be born and nothing can die.”

On a (somewhat) unrelated note, the little maintenance man from our building came to fix my window last month, and we ended up having a lovely chat. He told me he was from Albania, and when I mentioned I’d visited recently, his kind, round face literally lit up the entire room 🥹 He then showed me his oil paintings- each one a love letter to his homeland- and they were absolutely gorgeous. The most unassuming man with such an eye for beauty.
Now it no longer bothers me when things break in my house, because it means I get to see him and have a little catch-up 🫶🏻 by @ireneyap
