Lowkey don’t know how to express my feelings in words, but I will say this:

Thank you to all of my friends involved in the music department—You’ve given me something to look forward to every day. You helped me feel seen and worth it. You helped navigate me through grief and confusion through care and a shared hobby.
And thank you to the music department for putting up with me for the past four years. Even thought I’ll be moving on to another important chapter of my life, I will never forget my experience here and everything I learned.
I’ve discovered what it means to be truly committed about something I love doing, working so hard and pushing myself, and never giving up on my hobbies. I’ve learned what it means to be a part of a community that all cares for the same thing.

I never would have thought that a lazy flute player would become so passionate about music. Thank you for the opportunity to express myself. by @iriem6

Final musical performance (probably ever)! Thank you to everyone I worked with and everyone that came and supported us!

Each year, I try to articulate into words how my experience and musical endeavors was, but I can’t really manage to do that successfully… so I’m going to say this (it’s gonna be cringe):

Performing in musical theater was never necessarily my strong suit, however there are people involved in this program that has reminded me why I continue to return and work hard every year possible. I love doing what I do because being able to work together with others, day after day, week after week, month after month, to perform a show that will stick with everyone is the endeavor that I strive to continue doing for the rest of my life… theatrical performances often remind me of how much I love storytelling.

I admired so many other people that were involved in the production of this musical, including in previous years. You all have the potential to create and perform beautiful things, and I feel thankful for being able to do it alongside you. Although this is likely my last year of doing something like this, it will continue to be an important part of my high school journey and beyond.
