I’m wrapping up the track season 🏟️ with a personal best in the 3,000 meters—11:58.04. Having found a new pace and gained new strength and flexibility, I was able to give it my all—and all of this was made possible by the support of my coach, my team, and athletes from other clubs. Thank you to each and every one of you for the support! It’s been a wonderful season.

The next stage is the Amsterdam Marathon @tcsamsterdammarathon

The shorter, the better. That’s exactly how I chose my races for May. My first race was the 1500 meters, and I really enjoyed it. I then repeated it twice, but couldn’t improve on that. Then I rediscovered the 1000 meters on a whole new level, with a perfectly balanced pace from start to finish and a personal best. And then those incredible 800 meters, a pure sprint, and there’s still a lot to learn at that distance, but not this year. This is what May was like for me. by @irina_mc20

The Florence marathon took place in cold, very cold weather 🥶. A few gear tips for the future:
1. Gloves🧤, bring gloves, they’ll keep you warm.
2. Long- sleeved shirt. This is also essential in such cold weather.
3. A cap 🧢 it’ll also keep you warm.

A few notes about the race itself:

The first half was very good, easy and very comfortable to hold the pace, the road was smooth and not winding; I even got a little bored around kilometer 16.
Then came the second half, which was quite challenging, especially kilometer 23, which was completely covered in cobblestones (pavés). I was started to get nervous in this section, so I was so glad that it’s ended by 24th kilometer which I entirely devoted to regaining my form and rhythm. After kilometer 25, a pacer caught me, running 3:15 from the first wave, I ran with that group another 5 km. After kilometer 30, I simply counted off the remaining distance. Here, I focused more on technique and running rhythm, motivating myself. In the last 2 km I felt so exhausted that, after crossing the finish line, I stopped my watch and suddenly burst into tears. The tears wouldn't stop, they just kept flowing, I suddenly realized how physically exhausted I was and how much motivation I had to keep going. by @irina_mc20
