Sometimes, it is funny how, when I’m working on a completely different project and technique, all of a sudden, inspiration for a project I started two years ago suddenly just comes to me. Over the past week, new borrowed thoughts have started to pop up out of thin air. This got me excited to write them down immediately and get back to stitching them soon. What a thrilling sensation.

For the ‘Can You Trace Time?’ exhibition at Period, I showed a new version of my ‘Recollection’ collage piece.

This work visually explores the act of remembering, through its black-and-white shapes, printed in diluted black ink. Next to it, a blank piece of paper of the same dimensions is displayed. The collage piece invites visitors to leave their mark by spontaneously cutting out a piece and placing it onto the white piece. Each cut leaves a trace—an imprint that forms a new memory. Throughout the exhibition, these small interventions continuously transform the image. Together, the two sheets compose a positive and a negative—tracing how memory shifts and reshapes itself over time.

Last Saturday, our international art collective Quimera brought the ‘Heat and Drought II’ exhibition to Period Gallery, @period_gallery Amsterdam.

We had a lovely presentation and exhibition day in this space, with a lot of interesting conversations with our visitors. As part of this event, Period hosted the Dutch premiere of the Portuguese short film ‘Colapso’ by Miguel Partidário.

And thank you to Ruben Vis, who created a culinary interpretation of drought theme.

A big thank you to Period for the organization and everyone that came to visit.

Had a great two days at the “Heat and Drought exhibition” part of the ‘Hitte en Roogte Symposium’ at Delft University of Technology at the Green Village @tudelft .

We paticipated as a group of artists that created works conceptually connected to the symposium theme.

Froso Papadimitriou introduced us and our work to the audience. We enjoyed the guided tour around Green village and inspirational talks by the researchers.

I exhibited my work ‘Kintsugi of the Earth’, charcoal and thread on paper.

Thank you to Froso Papadimitriou, Eva Stache @evastachearchitect and the university of Delft for the invite and the organisation.

Thrilled to participate at the ‘Heat and Drought’ exhibition that is part of the ‘Hitte en Roogte Symposium’ at Delft University of Technology @tudelft .

It is taking place on the 24th & 25th of September 2026 at The Green Village, Building Co-Creation Centre, 10am - 5pm.

And on Saturday 26th we bring the show to Period @period_gallery , 3 - 10pm.

A big thank you to Froso Papadimitriou, the organizers and the Delft University of Technology for this opportunity.

‘O sobreiro’ (2026)

During the artist residency Quimera II. @liberarte.pt , Palhais (Barreiro, Portugal), I created a collage installation about cork trees.

The piece was inspired by the resilience of cork trees, the peeling of the outer tree bark and its regeneration.

Slowly the image of sobreiro shaped in my mind and on paper. I used a piece of cork, dipped it in diluted ink and painted the textures of the cork trees bark.
Then I used the painted paper pieces to create a layered collage installation.

I presented the ‘O sobreiro’ piece at the open day / final exhibition at LiberArte, on Saturday 18th 2026. taken in Palhais, Setubal, Portugal by @iris.poljan

Sharing photos of the opening of the QUIMERA II. exhibition @procur.arte, that brought together a group of ten visual artists from five countries (Portugal, Greece, Croatia, the Netherlands and England) to respond to the project challenge of “redesigning a place to transform the world” through painting, drawing, collage, video, ceramics and various forms of personal experimentation.

Obrigada to the @procur.arte team and @velaturas.artproject team for the production, and to our group of artists for making it happen.
